KANSAS – The Live Collection 1977-1979 (3CD)

Audience – 9.5, 8.5, 8.8  We start with a real cracker of a tape, recorded close up with excellent gear…hard to put this down it is extremely captivating. Then we have a first – the first gig in Europe by the band, and it is a very good tape but we are going to feel the difference between this and the first disc. It’s not got the dynamics of the ’77, but it is considered a very good tape nonetheless. The final disc contains a very good recording with plenty of atmosphere and some dynamics, maybe a touch of clutter in a very specific mid band frequency but it is minor to my ears. It’s a real enjoyable tape!
