• Audience 8.8 - Someone snuck in some good gear for this capture. You can just tell the mics are quality, there’s a great stereo pan, a good atmospheric capture.
  • Audience 8.6 - A very “live” sounding tape! Excitement, yes indeed (despite modest hiss).
  • Audience 8.3 - A little thin and some tape hiss present. Tape starts off, maybe the first 45 minutes or so, is very good but later there is a sound glitch on stage, with the guitar amp, and the band is thrown off. The sound is similar maybe during the second half but the band is not quite the same imho. Still, a good one for collectors – very decent, can enjoy!
  • Audience 6.9 - Well, here's the rub: Great band, great time (1971), great place (Bern, Switzerland), but not great recording. I mean, what you really need anyway is the guitar here, and at least you get some of that!  The problem is mainly a lo-fi experience but to be fair to this capture you do hear it all on stage. I am too harsh really, I think if you just give it a chance it gets better to your ears. I mean, it's TOAD man! How many live recordings are there? Two? Whatever it is this is still essential.
  • Audience 8.7  - This tape has one thing really going for it, and that is it is surprisingly clear, maybe not super close to the stage but that means there’s no distortion…there’s also no boominess, and there’s some good live atmosphere. The mix is decent, and overall this tape can be really enjoyed by anyone but let me tell you why I love it – because they play my fave Thin Lizzy song “Opium Trail” so there ya go. • Audience 7.7 - A tape that barely holds itself together due to the volume, must have been taped very close to the main PA’s. It actually is not distorted though, but it’s a balls out blaster of a tape and kind of cool in that respect. Vocals come through nicely – guitars and bass are pretty front and center here.
  • Studio Quality 9.0-9.3  - The rating is generally accurate throughout although to be picky you could slightly vary some of the sessions by fractions. • Soundboard 9.8 - What makes this so great is not only the excellent live mix but also the performance itself. So few Thin Lizzy recordings out there to begin with, so when we get one this good, you know, it’s something to treasure.
  • Audience 8.6 - The tape starts off kind of funky, and the band, or I should say, Phil Lynott, is having difficulty with the sound of his bass. Things get progressively better, until what you have is a pretty darn good show and recording.
  • Frankfurt 1972 - Audience 7.1 - Vocals buried but this is so cool, such an early show – guitar is smokin’ hot! Berlin 1973 - Audience 8.4
  • Audience 8.4 - An uneven mix is the fault, other than that it’s fine. Sounds like taper was on one side of the P.A. and got a lot of one guitar, and it sounds great, very menacing tone, but we lose some other elements that sort of appear and then disappear. The recording is not hard to enjoy even with that issue, for me it was because of the good live tone and having that guitar so close it made me feel like I was seated with the taper hearing what he was hearing. Also, I look forward to certain songs live, with Opium Trail being one and it is present here on this tape. THIN LIZZY Orpheum Theater Boston MA. • Soundboard - Most collectors will know of this, and this set does include the partial live performance segment as well. A nice snippet of a good year, 1971.
  • Audience 9.2 - Excellent! Strong if just a tad subdued as far as guitar loudness.
  • Landover 1973 Soundboard 9.3 - A solid recording that was broadcast over the air and features a nice wide stereo mix showing detail in the bass and crisp, crunchy guitar not to mention having another well recorded Keith Moon experience…and of course Roger is in fine form (when is he not?). Wembley 1975 Audience 8.5 - Not horrible, the music is all here in pretty clear form (I get a good picture of drums thankfully), but the highlight is the stage banter where you get a lot of stuff that will entertain for sure. I am happy say that the recording does also get better, so that once you are firmly ensconced in your listening chair you will start to get into this one more and more. • Metropolitan Opera House NY 1970 Audience 8.4 - A decent tape considering we have very few US 1970 tour audience tapes that sound great. A little sweetening with EQ and you’ve just raised the sound rating another half a point…technology has changed the way collectors think about these old audience source tapes. Newcastle 1971 Audience 8.7 - A surprising new find!  Buried for decades and now dusted off, restored and presented for your approval. It’s not bad!  I can hear it all, with some cool atmosphere. I rather like it! San Francisco 1971 Audience 8.8 - This tape has some depth to it, where you get definition in the bass and not just “low end” which I appreciate. Roger rises above in the sound mix but on this tape nobody is drowned out, it’s evenly mixed and that makes it enjoyable. Some background noise which sounds like it is coming from the house PA but not during the band performing…all in all this is a real good one. • Audience 8.8 - Aside from a rough beginning, this tape comes pretty darn close to the excellence of the Toronto ’75 show. It’s got good presence and clarity, with an ample amount of kick where it needs it.  I also find the performance very strong, Keith is firing on all eight and the band is really in sync with each other. • Audience 9.3 - Another excellent, clear, bright 75 show with all the dynamics you could want, good punchy drums and bass, clear vocals, crunchy guitars. Lovely!
  • Audience 7.4 - A one dimensional recording that actually is clear enough to catch everything happening but the sound resides somewhere in the upper mids to highs, not screechy, just one dimensional.
  • Audience 7.2 - A low rating but at least .5 points higher than the original version. Someone did a Remaster which it desperately needed because it was flawed. Mainly, it’s surface noise from the vinyl source (original tape source never located). It wasn’t great to begin with either. If you needed to upgrade this for your collection – get this one .... Bonus is the great artwork and packaging.
  • Audience 7.1 - Definitely not a hi-fi recording but I can say this, you actually hear not only Roger fine above the din, but also Pete’s backing vocals! Next up is bass and guitars, with drums in the back kind of buried. Still, I just love these 68 shows, before Tommy, and the band is just so jazzed and audiences are too. Historical document well worth hearing.
