Audience 7.8 -
CD 1,2 - Hammersmith, UK - Audience 7.3 - Big and loud stadium sound but you can hear all instruments and there’s reasonable clarity if not a touch of boominess. CD 3 - Milan, Italy - Audience 8.8 - Excellent capture! -
Audience 7.8 - Crowded a bit in the middle, but not bad enough to lose any one instrument. In fact, the guitar and bass complement each other in the mix like a battle of giants. I will say also that the performance itself is a real jam fest, with everyone shining bright. I like this one a lot. -
Audience 7.7 - This sounds way better than I remember it from years ago, not to say it is marvelous, but what I can tell you is that Ian and Jon are absolute beasts here, the intensity is off the charts folks. Because of where the sound spectrum is (focuses on vocals and keys) you get the idea maybe you won’t hear Ritchie but when he solos the guitar is riding the top of everything which is a relief. So, all in all a spectacular show, mediocre recording that sounds better than it ever has. I consider this along with the Hiroshima gig of the same year to be essential for real fans due to the insane levels of intensity present. -
Audience 7.7 - A great period for Deep Purple, this is probably their peak in a lot ways. The recording here is decent, vocals a little back, some overload at times, but you don’t miss anything really all the music is there and you can pick up just about everything on stage. I like it, I think you will too. -
Audience 8.4 - Simply has to be one of the best audience tapes of the time. So, it isn’t perfect but I consider this to be a must have due to how clear, and really nice fat bottom end without boominess. Lovely! -
CD 1 & 2 - Audience 8.9 - Very strong presence, taper had great seats and knew how to operate his levels, so, have fun because the band never sounded better! CD 3 & 4 - This show received a nice remastering which helped bring the middle up and cut out a lot of the tape hiss so what you get now is a smoother sound, and good punch in the mids while offering great solid kick drum, vocals, and guitar with keys being placed perfectly in accompaniment. Just get past the first song where taper finds his position and you are good to go. -
Audience 7.7 - Hard to find many really good quality shows from this period, but as it goes this one is not terrible just boost some bass and it is much better. -
Audience 6.8 - Audio is Not very good but man, what a bummer because this is one of the absolute best performances I think I have ever heard. Totally intense and really good improv jams that do not bore you to tears. Wish it was better – but on the plus side you get a rather clear Richie on guitar. Quieter passages are rather decent. The main problem here is that everything is squeezed into a narrow bandwidth. Must have for hardcore fans for the ferociousness of the performance. -
Audience 7.8 - The best of the tour and in fact Tommy is very cohesive here. A must for fans of DP and Tommy Bolin. -
Audience 7.3 - 8.0 - Gets better as the show progresses. Let me just say this – I think this show is hotter than the officially released Live album! Maybe because when a band knows they are being recorded, they are less “free” in their playing. I don’t know but this show is off the hook jamming, wish it sounded a little better but even so I am happy to get to hear it. -
Audience 9.3 - You could not ask for a better break than having this marathon ass kicking show recorded so well. -
Audience 5.7 - Muffled and bass heavy but blistering show wish it was better sound. Vocals kind of clear, can hear guitar and he’s shredding like hell. -
Oldenburg, Germany 1971 - Audience 8.3 - The star of this 2CD (guitar smoking hot!) / Rome, Italy 1971 - Audience 6.7 - Very noisy and brassy. -
Audience 6.8 - Very thin, but a low gen tape used here so it is pretty clear and guitar is the most present along with Ian and a pretty prominent kick drum too. The show is marvelous wish it sounded better. -
Audience 7.9 - It’s hard give this a below 8 rating because of technical limitations of the recorder (a touch of high end distortion) because it is a very exciting and highly amped show captured quite well for the primitive hear that must have been used. I can hear everything and guitar is loud and up front. The distortion present is not a killer, it’s there but it is as unobtrusive as distortion can be. A fun recording, puts you right there. -
Audience 8.4 - Keyboards shine, all other instruments a little behind keys but clearly heard. -
Audience 7.7 - The rating does nothing to express the magnitude of intensity that this show has. It gives you a very real sense of how completely bombastic and insanely loud Deep Purple were at this time. Incredible on many levels, so use this to show your kids how we rocked back in the day. Amazing! -

Audience 9.6 - Marvelous recording captures every nuance in pristine, clear, full quality. -
Audience 7.7 - Kind of thin but really pretty clear and that is why they consider this one of the better audience tapes of the British leg of the Spiders tour in 1972. -
Soundboard 9.0 - Sounds kind of thin and compressed to me but it is perfectly clear being a modern sdbrd. Features songs with Nine Inch Nails, and a lot of good bonus material. All in all a very good CD! -
Audience 6.8 - For the hardcore collector of the Ziggy days. A rare tape though, wish it was better. -
Audience 7.3 - Suffers from being in a bad spot on the floor but the perspective is interesting nonetheless. It lacks depth and clarity for sure, but hearing this show gives one a real sense of being right there with the tapers. -

Audience 7.9 - I keep coming back to this show, mainly because I love the vibe in the hall, the crowd progressively getting more and more into it and excitement keeps building. Great stuff! -
Audience 7.8 - Clear, strong, present with just a hint of mic overload but overall very very good recording of a historic show revealing the pre-stardom Bowie testing some Ziggy tunes. -

Audience 7.8 - Excitement is the order of the day, you can literally feel it. The recording can be praised for effectively capturing a really on performance at a famous venue at the best time of Bowie’s career (some would say).
