• Audience 8.0 - You are probably wondering why I am including low rated recordings here, especially Kiss…well you may have a point but here’s the thing: This site is for ALL collectors, and the reason this show is listed here is because it circulated for years in unlistenable quality (below 7.0), but thanks to modern technology it is now listenable. It’s from perhaps one of their best tours, musically speaking, and needed an upgrade so bad!  So, for the casual fan I would say pass, but for the Kiss collector who knows how bad this show sounded and wants to throw away that old CD, I would recommend this 2020 re-master. Still kind of rough but there is now music here instead of an insufferable wall of distortion. I am not 100% sure but I think the big thing about this show among collectors was the inclusion of the song “Move On” to the set list, perhaps only performed this one time. • Audience 8.6 - Fantastic audience recording, feels like you are right there! My favorite kind of live tape, a solid 8.6 in sound, atmosphere, energy. More like this please!
  • Audience 9.3 - I am hesitant to call this a radio broadcast but this obviously was professionally recorded, but the recording might not necessarily be through the board hence “audience” tape. Great sound! • Audience 7.2 - A little rough and some hiss but it’s alright, it’s all pretty tight, it’s outtasight!
  • Audience 8.7 - Do not be put off by the rating! This is a very strong 8.7 verging closer to 8.8. Why do I stress that?  Because it has a lot going for it, the only black mark I hold against it is due to the lack of distinction between guitars and Paul being pushed back in the sound mix. That being said, it’s more the “mix” of the guitars that leads me to say that, not that you can’t pick each one up. I think I am just being picky though. • Soundboard 8.8 - A little bit of dust and grease over the old tape but the music comes through relatively unscathed and makes for a great blast from the past. • Sale!

    KISS – Fresno 1979 (1CD)

Original price was: $16.49.Current price is: $15.29.
Audience 8.7 - This recording makes the band sound like they are in a smaller venue, when I know they aren’t.
  • Soundboard 8.6 - Very loud and right in your face board tape.
  • PRO STUDIO 9.3 - One of the best I have come across, a great selection of tracks and some I’d never heard before. Excellent!
  • Studio 9.5 - A really detailed, complete set which contains just about everything you ever wanted to hear regarding the pre-Kiss band Wicked Lester. Is it necessary?  I mean, there’s a lot of repetition here, but I have to say it is kind of necessary when you call something complete, you should provide that to the collector and this set does. Quality is great.

  • Audience 8.7 to 9.0 (range) - All pretty darn good. Classic early Kiss, and very interesting at times especially when they do the groove rock numbers. Wish they did that more.
  • Soundboard 8.6 - Very clear, with occasional wow and flutter but the atmosphere is intact and the history is undeniable. A certain must for any Kiss fan!
  • A mix of various sources but I find overall quality to be very good to excellent. In fact, it's strange but there are better sounding tapes from '75 than there are for the following year. You'd think audio quality would get better each subsequent year...alas one only need to listen to most of the 1980's audience tapes to know that is simply not the case. • Soundboard 8.9 - Hard to find anything to complain about when it comes to listening to vintage Kiss board tapes, that is, if you are like me and grew up with Kiss.  Believe it or not, Kiss displayed very competent musicianship back in these days.
