Aud 7.7 - A rather clear and exciting recording. Not especially dynamic maybe, but this is one of the few 1970 audience recordings that have qualities that are more enjoyable than not. Worth having!
Disc 1 Philadelphia 1969 Aud 6.5 Pretty bad one, sound is distant and distorted due to Jimi’s insane volume and lack of taper knowledge of simple dynamics.
Disc 2 Philadelphia 1970 aud 7.2 A relief to the ears after playing disc one of this set.
Audience 8.8 - Actually a very good recording but levels are low so turn it up. Once you crank the volume, you will be satisfied to hear that this is a tight and punchy recording.
Audience 8.7 - An explosive concert, totally off the chain here. Quality is solid, for the time period especially – a very immediate punch, very lively, lacking all the niceties for sure but you won’t care, believe me.
Audience 8.4 - A pretty loud recording, and not super defined but it’s VERY good nonetheless and well worth hearing. It certainly has a very immediate and live feel to it, even after all these years it’s as if it happened yesterday.
Audience 7.4 - Noisy recording from very close to stage, but it’s so raw and energetic you get sucked into it immediately. A jolly good show! Clear, loud, and tons of fun to listen to.
Audience 8.6 - Pretty hot levels on this one, but it is clear and good balance of instruments with plenty of low end and highs (slightly overloaded but not distorted).
Audience 8.8 - Clean, good and punchy sound with plenty of hot, live atmosphere. On one or two songs Jeff’s solo gets lost, but it does return thankfully.
