• Soundboard 8.8 - Deep and rich lows, and nicely detailed highs are the hallmarks of what I consider to be one of the better 1980 shows the band performed.
  • Soundboard 9.0 - Crunchy and clear, with super duper guitar tone right up in your face. Spectacular but sometimes so much power all occupying the middle frequency makes you want more low end, so add it with Equalizer and you are good to go mate.
  • Audience 9.2 - This one deserves a high rating for not only having great sound quality (with some minor taper adjustment in the beginning) but also because, quite simply, this gig is off the charts cool. Plant makes reference to "the vibes" during the show and it's just obvious that the crowd knows they are witnessing something magic, and the best part is - so does the band. When they realize they are all four "in the zone", the show takes off to levels unprecedented heretofore. A stellar No Quarter and perhaps the best Dazed and Confused of the whole tour...you get that and more. One tiny blemish, during the end of The Rain Song, an equipment malfunction destroys what would have been the penultimate version, and Plant himself recognized the disaster. To me, it's not a deal breaker at all, it lasts a couple seconds, but I understand Plant's frustration completely. Get this now!
  • Audience 9.3 - Superb recording of a band firing on all cylinders.
  • Audience 8.8 - Really crisp and vibrant
  • Studio Quality 9.7 Kind of a classic amongst the collectors due to its great song flow and high level playing and jamming.
  • Volume 1 - Audience 8.6 - Oxford   (March 9, 1982) (All three shows are some of the best of the early 80’s recordings).

  • Soundboard  9.4 - Brilliant!
  • Prolific San Antonio progressive hard rock band responsible for carrying the torch for over 45 years. This is the only known complete live recording of them, you'll hear a mix of originals and prog rock covers played to perfection.
  • All Soundboard - All Excellent  (4 Shows)
  • We got this tape years ago when it was submitted by a customer of ours who thought we would be interested in it. He was from Ohio, and told me he was friendly with the guys in this band. He managed to get their demo recording and sent it on behalf of the band. That was around 1986, and the recordings dated around 1983. That was the last I heard about it. Decades later, I rediscovered the tape and decided it was time. Heavy and complex, the first track of their demo tape was 45 minutes long!  As you can imagine, there were no labels that took them on...except me of course!
  • Soundboard  9.3 - Crisp, wonderful recording and mix.
  • Soundboard  9.2 - Very direct and forceful sounding, but a touch harsh I would say. Still I am being picky, it’s a damn good one!

  • Audience  7.3 - A rip-roaring, over the top onslaught of greasy rock and roll captured painfully close to the PA. Sounds like this may be lifted from vinyl, and there’s tape noise artifacts present. But, all that taken into account, this is still a very good time and not painful on the ears despite the volume (I think someone attempted to remaster this but it can use one more time).
  • Pro  9.0 - Both are excellent, bright, snappy recordings. Goes without saying if you don’t have this you should get it!
  • FM Broadcast  9.3 - Crisp and airy, with hardly any complaints but if I were to do so, I would have toned down the guitars actually as I found sometimes they were actually too up front…some people would prefer that though. A great one no matter.
  • Hard blues rock band formed in 1975 in Houston, TX. Featured vocalist BB. Watson who left Houston to pursue a career in Nashville as a C&W singer. He had some fleeting success, eventually came back to Houston and worked with Michael Knust (Fever Tree) and Keith York (Albatross, Rare Breed) for a stint and also attempted to reunite the Rare Breed (those sessions contained on this CD). Rare Breed also featured the guitar of Robert Hampton before he joined Hooker. These are all the known recordings.
  • Disc 1 & 2 - Audience  8.6 Disc 3 - Audience  8.9 Great sound mix here and frequency range ... you can crank this one!
  • Aud 8.5 and PRO RADIO 9.6  - The Brisbane is a raucous, loud, crashing kind of show/recording that gives one a sense of sitting on the side of the stage and watching them. The BBC material is awesome!
  • FM Broadcast  8.8 - Once you get past the first song which has some channel dropouts, it’s all systems go full tilt boogie for reals. This is just flat out awesome!
  • Audience 9.7 - Incredible sound! Massive drums, tight and solid bass, spacious keys...damn this could come out officially. • Audience 9.6 - Very well done, with loads of beautifully full drums and bass that do not boom and do not drown out any other instrument. Keys are nicely placed in the mix and at times seem to surround you. Excellent and highly recommended! ELP Long Beach Arena Long Beach, CA. August 11, 1977 Disc 1 1. • Audience 9.4 - Absolutely fantastic tape! This gives you everything and more, including some intangible aspects that people ought not to disregard, and that is atmosphere. What was it like at the show? I want that immersive experience, and I want a clear sounding tape, and I am willing to forgive the lack of some dynamics in exchange for that - but here you don't have to make that sacrifice because this recording is VERY dynamic! I love the meaty drums, and vocals are soaring above and very clear. Guitar is MONSTEROUS too, and mixed properly. This is almost a must have, actually it is good enough to be a top 5 at least for the Tony Martin era. • Soundboard 9.8 - Spectacular in every way. Very energetic, not dull or compressed. Everything sort of jumps right out at you with this recording. The mix is spot on.
