• Audience 7.7 - A little boomy, and that typical 70’s hard rock big hall sound but it ROCKS! It’s decent and a lot of fun.
  • Audience 8.9 - You can turn the volume way up and it gets better and better because the wise taper knew what he was doing.  The show is incomplete though but you won’t find me complaining. Thankful for what I have, and you will be too!
  • CD 1 - FM Broadcast 8.8  /  CD 2 - FM Radio Broadcast 9.1  /  CD 3 - FM Radio Broadcast 8.9  /  CD 4 - Audience 8.7
  • Audience 7.3 - Sounds very close to the stage, and the tape machine struggles, but there’s something magical about this one…the band sounds more experimental and “free” to just rock it and jam. There is a palpable energy and the recording does capture that.
  • Soundboard 9.0 and Soundboard 9.3
  • Audience 7.0 - For the completist only.
  • Montrose Boston 1974 Aud 8.6 - A new master tape source used for this one, and the tape is very clear although the hall acoustics are not optimal but it ROCKS! It’s decent and a lot of fun. Spooky Tooth Boston 1974 Audience 8.5 - A master tape source obtained for this presentation and aside from the acoustics of the venue and the sound mix itself, this is a good tape and can be enjoyed. Humble Pie Boston 1974 Audience 8.5 - This recording is from a master source and is clear, but the house mix and the venue make it hard to get that separation of instruments that make for a better experience. That being said this is still well worth getting. MONTROSE Music Hall Boston MA. • Audience 9.3 - The secret to making a lifelike stealth recording is knowing what kind of microphone to use and how to operate peak level control meters. If you master those two aspects, the rest comes down to location inside the venue and physical handling of the gear. In this case, every element is handled appropriately with excellent results. There's a reason why they call the taper (Mike Millard RIP) Mike The Mic. • Audience 8.7 - Recorded with reel to reel tape machine, this is actually very good although it begins with some fluctuations as the tapers settle in. They do an admirable job throughout as the tape stabilizes, they comment here and there but keep it to a minimum, as is the crowd noise. So, it’s a relaxing and enjoyable experience, the band sounding like they are not willing to sell out just yet as their set is not necessarily a top 40 showcase which is good actually. Some hits, but a lot of deep and meaningful music. • Audience 7.5 - Average dynamics but the strength of this recording lies not in the tonal spectrum but in the music itself. You WILL gain an even greater appreciation for them after listening. The rewards are huge, a promise I can make without hesitation. Simply breathtaking!
  • Audience 8.8 - Very crisp and clean sound. Enjoyable show!
  • This music was released originally in 1969 I believe and is considered a classic psychedelic rock work. CD is new, never played.
  • Audience 9.0 - Solid, nothing offensive here at all to the ears. Lots of cool atmosphere…chicks dig this guy…whatever. • Audience 8.8 - A decent atmospheric tape with emphasis on vocals, and music like a warm backdrop behind him that swirls and echoes above. • Audience 9.1 - You have to really try hard if you want to screw up a stealth recording in this day and age – excellent equipment, great PA’s, decent venues…so thankfully taper understands and delivers a pleasant “souvenir” in this live tape. Morrissey – well I was never into him but gotta admit there’s a lot of talent here in the music and his deliver is appropriate.
