Audience 8.6 - A fantastic early recording of the band during their summer rock festival circuit tour. These are some of their most fiery performances, playing in front of huge festival crowds where there is palpable kinetic energy, and this show really delivers! At times, taper seems to move to different spots and so the sound occasionally fades but then comes back strong again. -
Audience 8.7 - Pretty crisp and clear especially Page, who shines in this performance. -
Stockholm 1968 - Audience 8.7 / London 1968 - Audience 8.2 Both fantastic considering the time period, and the significance cannot be understated. That being said, the London material suffers from some artifacts present either in the master or in the transfer to digital. My guess is that it probably originated from an acetate or from an AM Radio Broadcast taped onto a cheap cassette deck but it is still decent enough to get into. -
Audience 7.8 - Wonderful recording if just a touch on the compressed side (maybe FM radio?), still this is lovely! -
Pro Pre-Broadcast Master FM 9.7. It’s hard not to be drawn in to this performance; actually it’s Linda who does all the heart stealing here. Wow, I’d consider collecting all of the live shows at this point because I never knew how much genuine charm and warmth this lady had, and transferred to audiences effortlessly. Oh, and the songs are good too! -
Audience 8.7 & Audience 9.7 - The first part of the disc is electric and the rest is an acoustic in-store, and it is very intimate and excellent! I prefer it to the electric set in fact. -
Soundboard 9.3 - Crisp highs, great mid tones are what define this tape. -
Soundboard 9.7 - Just about as good as you’d ever want. -
Soundboard 9.0 - Some tape hiss but it doesn’t bother. -
Soundboard 9.2 - The band was really up for this show, it’s pretty hot. -
Audience 8.0 - Sounds a little subdued, but it’s clear for the most part. Needs a kick in the highs. -
Audience 8.8 - Spectacular live presence and good clear vibrant recording. -

Soundboard 9.4 - Fans of Frank Marino rejoice! Fantastic quality and BLAZING riff bashing by one of rock’s most criminally underrated axemen. Riff’s are certainly bashed but the classy jazz tinged scales that he tosses out with finesse really impresses. Get it now! -

Audience 7.0 - Impossible to really document this band on amateur equipment, they were too loud. I kind of compare them to Blue Cheer, a more progressive, and British, Blue Cheer. That being said, believe it or not this is one of the better live tapes. Loud, crowded, noisy tape, all that yes but man, this is amazing! -
Audience 7.0 - Ultra loud, no clear separation except the drums actually do have some distinction and this tape has a much broader sound spectrum and is not stuck in a very lo-fi mid band position. I like this tape, it features more raw energy than the others and even though is still “rough”, it gets the blood pumping and is quite exhilarating to hear. What a find! A rare show recently surfaced. -
Audience 7.8 - Perhaps the best of the audience May Blitz tapes, still very loud but much more separation of each instrument and loads of raw power on display. Frighteningly intense, brilliant acid psyche hard rock from a very underground band that should have been MUCH bigger. -

Audience 6.8 - Pretty rough, thin, and one dimensional, but fans will want this one. This is when it all happened, this is historic! -

Audience 7.3 - Loud and slightly distorted but pretty dang raucous and for that I like it. -
Audience 7.7 - A little boomy, and that typical 70’s hard rock big hall sound but it ROCKS! It’s decent and a lot of fun. -
Audience 7.3 - Sounds very close to the stage, and the tape machine struggles, but there’s something magical about this one…the band sounds more experimental and “free” to just rock it and jam. There is a palpable energy and the recording does capture that. -
Audience 7.0 - For the completist only. -
Audience 7.5 - Average dynamics but the strength of this recording lies not in the tonal spectrum but in the music itself. You WILL gain an even greater appreciation for them after listening. The rewards are huge, a promise I can make without hesitation. Simply breathtaking! -
Audience 8.7 - A kick ass show and quality is perfectly suited for the kind of loud and raucous music the Kinks made…albeit with excellent melodic sense. Recording has loads of power without overloading so I believe taper was using very good stuff for the time. -

Audience 8.8 - This recording has been attributed to a soundboard radio broadcast but I highly doubt that. For one thing, listen to the vocals, that should be a dead giveaway. That all being said, the recording is very, very good, a little on the bright side but it is still smokin’ hot and not to be missed. -

FM Radio Broadcast 8.5 - The tape source shows its age, and then there’s the telltale radio compression as well so you get a reasonably clear sound with a lack of high end clarity, occasional minor drop outs, that sort of thing. It’s not that bad, I expect better of an FM broadcast but there’s not much out there from this station, this is a pretty rare thing, and the band, while very good, never achieved a lot of commercial success. They are traditional AOR rock that sometimes reminds me of Bob Seger or Meatloaf. -
Audience 8.6 - A little thin but surprisingly clear, and man, just to hear this stuff I gotta say it’s a privilege. The material these bands came up with around this time – 1972-73 – it’s just a whole different world of rock and roll that most people were, and still are, completely unaware of. I like the experimental spaciness of the opening “jam sessions” with Franco Battiato (probably with members of the other bands), you get the feeling these guys were really tuned in to each other because it’s not recklessly chaotic, there’s a mystical beauty to it. The Quella Vecchia Locanda is just insane, too bad only one song, and it’s not complete, but I think only a small portion was missed I could be wrong. Garybaldi’s set consists of most of the Astrolabio record, which is very cool but I wished there was some of the Nuda stuff on here.
