LED ZEPPELIN – Nassau Coliseum, NY. 2-13-75 (3CD)

Original price was: $28.49.Current price is: $26.49.
Soundboard 9.8  - You can’t do much better than these, mainly because the board tape itself is full of life and expertly mixed in contrast to other more sterile boards. The other is because the band is firing on all cylinders, and taking improvisation to dizzying heights as evidence by the No Quarter, Dazed and Confused marathon improve sections.
  • Audience 8.8 - Another great tape made by someone obviously knowing what they were doing. There are a couple of cuts here and there, not deal breakers by any means but full disclosure. Anyway, a solid, in the pocket recording of a sizzling gig with great interplay between Jobson and Beck.
  • Audience 9.3 - Did you miss Queen in their prime? Don’t worry, because now you can be there again by listening to this show. I think every English band that plays Boston elevates their game, perhaps it is because Boston feels like home to them…it is kind of quaint and vaguely British I guess.

    PINK FLOYD – Paris 1977 (2CD)

Original price was: $23.49.Current price is: $22.00.
Audience 9.1 - The last of a four night stand in Paris, and probably the best of the recordings made. Strong, clear, and a nice warm mid tone, although not as atmospheric, meaning taper must have been close (and knew how to operate the recording levels!).

    URIAH HEEP – Seattle 1973 (2CD)

Original price was: $23.49.Current price is: $22.00.
Audience 8.7 - A good strong sounding tape with a minimal bit of clutter somewhere in the middle frequencies that does not distract thankfully. Recorded on some good gear, you can tell. Just listen to the organ when the music stops during Gypsy and you know what I'm talking about...just ripping!
  • FM Radio 9.5 - All pro recordings from three different cities in Texas. Originally broadcast by KBFH.
  • Soundboard 9.5 - A professionally recorded concert, this was broadcast on the famous Rockpalast TV show in Germany.
  • Audience 8.6 - A strong recording that you know was done by people who were careful and prepared because right away you can hear them getting the recording levels set during the opening bars of the first song. They knew what they were doing!  A lively gig, the band riding high and looking to prove that the hype was for real. Get this!
  • Audience 8.7 - Right in your face, loud and clear, which is appropriate for this hard hitting style of rock and roll.
  • Soundboard 9.6 - From the very first notes, you know this one is going to be one helluva ride, and it delivers!
  • SDBRD 8.8 - One of the best, if not the best, of the later Ted Nugent & The Amboy Dukes live recordings. Great playing abounds, and Ted is Ted, as usual, and it kind of makes one wonder – did David Lee Roth get his schtick from having been to one of these gigs?  Seems like it.
  • Audience 8.4 - A really good capture all things considered. At moments it gets very immersive.
  • Audience 8.0 - Rated rather conservatively here, at times it goes a notch or two higher. This recording does capture the excitement of the gig rather well. Frequencies are not squashed, you can play with this.
  • Audience 8.2 - This is a very in demand show from this tour. Why? Because it is perhaps the best audience recording from 1984, but it is not perfect, it just has more great qualities than bad. I think the only knock is the absence of bottom end, but that is what an Equalizer is for. Get this and have fun!
  • Audience 8.4 - Man, what an amazing show this is! and not for the reasons you might think. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this BECAUSE OF THE AUDIENCE!  Yes, it's so unique to find a show that I get into the crowd as much as the band. In this case, the band, as good as they are (and they are extremely pumped up as the crowd pushes them further and further every song), the audience is the real star of the show. I've just never heard anything like this - the recording is excellent, capturing the atmosphere and the audience very well - notice I did not say "the music" here?  Really, I kid you not, this show is about the crowd and the band is just along for the ride. Incredible document. Wish I was there!
  • Audience 8.3 - This is as good as I have ever heard this show sound. Possibly from a very low generation tape source or master because there is no hiss, and it is pretty clear although not super dynamic. The band was in top form during this European series of concerts.
