• Audience 8.5 - A solid tape, with the occasional shouts of “sit down” to add atmosphere. Everything comes through lovely, and seemingly pretty close to the taper. Solid Solid Solid.
  • Atlanta 1977 Audience 8.6 - At times the tape shines (quieter sections) but for the louder parts (most of the concert) the bass overtakes guitar, and the bass is not boomy so it is not an annoying thing it’s more of a live mix thing. Clarity is very good but not great, frequencies are all intact here, the sound can breathe a little, it’s not a bad tape and it is not a great tape…and I think the consensus is that you would benefit from having it in the collection. Louisville 1977 Audience 8.7 - The sound here borders on distortion but manages to stay within a sane level of tolerance due to exceptional re-mastering (which is so difficult, to keep highs and mids but lose clipping, it’s a task I would not want myself). If taper was able to manage his levels, this would have been one of the best audience tapes of all time…you can hear the quality, but yeah, some problems there with the upper level distortion keep it as a very good tape as opposed to extremely great. Still, I have to say this is well worth having. Milwaukee 1977 Audience 8.2 - This is the kind of tape that is hard to get through without needing some major adjusting. I can tell you only that even after careful re-mastering, it is still an average tape with some decent moments but mostly difficult on the ears. It’s saving grace?  It’s a brand new discovery, and is only popping up for the first time since it was first recorded. I enjoyed the quieter parts (such as Wish You Were Here, and the acoustic portions of the Pigs suites). • Audience 8.9 - When this recording first starts you get a little worried that it is going to be crap, but when the band begins to play, the sound gets surprisingly good, so much so that it totally sucks you into the moment and you lose yourself in the band. Fantastic!
  • Audience 7.4 - Sounds pretty low generation, but it’s typical of the era being kind of AM radio sounding but on the positive side, the instruments are good and clear if maybe the guitar is a bit in the back.
  • Audience 9.4 - An excellent recording featuring one unusual distinction in that guitars are hard panned to one side making for a unique listening experience. It kind of adds to the atmosphere actually. A great one!
  • Audience 7.3 to 7.6 in quieter parts  (upgrade).

    PINK FLOYD – Boblingen 1972 (2CD)

Original price was: $23.49.Current price is: $22.00.
Audience 8.9 - A really cool recording in that keys, drums and bass sound right next to you but guitar swirls above them, and over your head, and around your ears… VERY nice atmosphere and picked up extremely well by the taper.
  • Audience 7.1 - A very subdued tape, and lots of hiss that at some points is cleaner so no real stress. It is reasonably clear in that you can hear everything, just sounds like it needs a kick in the mid range or some good multi-band compression. Interesting to hear these sort of stripped down Dark Side shows.
  • Audience 7.8 - The recording shines during the quieter passages and gets slightly crowded during intense sections but without any distortion at all. It’s really quite good, I think even the most discerning collector can benefit by having this performance.
  • Audience 7.3 - The good thing about Pink Floyd is that almost every taped concert is relatively clear because they did not overload with bombast and volume.
  • Audience 8.0 - A subdued recording that occupies a pleasant bandwidth for the ears but does not venture into dynamics high or low. It’s very interesting hearing these formative versions of Animals tracks, this recording does deliver enough clarity and separation of instruments to be able to appreciate the happenings on stage – and because Pink Floyd is not a “bombastic” band, you do get periods of music that rate in the mid 8’s so a good, not great, tape.
  • Audience 7.4 - MUCH MUCH better than the previously circulated version! Still not perfect, but this is well worth getting if you want to upgrade your old copy, otherwise if you are a collector and do not have it, you should get it because rock concerts at Carnegie Hall were few and far between.
  • Audience 9.1 - Excellent! Very clear, balanced, and lovely atmosphere. One that will get repeated play for sure.
