• Audience 9.7 - This was broadcast live at the time but I can tell you it is not a soundboard. There is too much ambience (a small club apparently) that gives you the impression they did not even need to run a board feed for this broadcast. It’s superbly captured, the detail, the depth, man…this is how they should record all concerts! Amazing stuff. • Soundboard 9.8 - I remember a few of the radio hits this band had, but honestly I never gave them a fair shake. Now I know what I was missing. Damn! At times I even think this band may have studied Frank Zappa, their stage banter is the giveaway. • Soundboard 9.3 - This is an average of the rating that I confidently can say spans the entire set. There is some minor variance in the first disc being that is taken from four different sources, but consistently good. The exact date of the last disc (the rehearsals) is unknown but believed to be ’93 although people say it can be as early as 1989 also. I’ll let the experts decide but I have gone with the general wisdom of it being from ’93. • Audience 8.4 - While not nearly as spectacular as the Uniondale ’77 (a pro-mixed board btw), this is still an important tape being that it is among the last of the Kath era shows. It’s also not bad at all – in a narrow bandwidth it manages to offer decent separation of instruments and nothing annoying in the frequencies. It’s a solid capture on limited equipment and for that I give the thumbs up to the tapers. • Audience 8.6 - A recording that is very clear and bright but lacks low end…but do not take that as saying this recording is too thin. It’s got just enough in the middle and bottom to allow you to attenuate the recording to your liking and in that regard you will find yourself going with this one often. It’s not a one and done show at all. GREAT find and appreciated a little bit more being that it’s a Grace Under Pressure tour gig which for some reason there’s not a plethora of excellent recordings from this tour.

  • Soundboard 9.5 - A very nice mix, as if done for a proposed live LP. Band is very tight.
  • Aud 8.3 - A legendary gig, mainly because of the covers they play for the encore. The tape has a rough beginning but eventually evens out to reveal a surprisingly powerful capture. Most collectors consider this one a must have and from what I understand this source comes from a master tape.
  •  Pro FM 9.6 - Sound quality is absolutely spot on but so is the band. They were well rested and rehearsed, and it clearly shows with stunning accuracy and a packed set list too. Get this!
  • A collection of rare, never before issues tracks originating from Texas during the 1970's.  Featuring a handful of demos produced by the group Truck, a band who slipped under the radar and whose music remained undiscovered for decades.  The rest of the disc is rounded out by some known and some very obscure acts, some so obscure we do not even know what their name is!  These tracks were discovered on an old forgotten multi-track reel that was owned by Ernie Myers (guitarist of Hands out of Dallas, TX.). Studios would frequently reuse reels to save costs, and this particular reel was no exception Tracks were discovered on the end of the reel that was used to record some demos in 1980. All that we know of the band are the first names of the members written on a track sheet inside the tape box. The recordings originated out of a studio called JD&D Sound...and that's it. The music is excellent!
  • Released in 2002 on the ShroomAngel Records label, this has been officially reissued in this format.  This studio album marked 25 years of the bands existence (hence the title).
  • Official reissue from ShroomAngel Records, this is a collection of live (and live in studio) tracks by the 70's Dallas, TX. prog band Hands (before they were known as Hands, they were called Prism).
  • Soundboard 9.2 - Another fun show with the boys. Come on, really if you can’t get into this you just need to drink a couple of beers and relax, maybe smoke a doob or something.
  • Audience 8.8 & 8.7  - Same taper for both nights, and thankfully this is someone who knew what they were doing as you can tell they diligently set their levels and position to maximize the end results, and man, what end results these are!  More probably for the outstanding performance and great house mix, but the tapes have held up well with just maybe a touch of overload in very loud parts that do not annoy, just you may notice it on occasion. Great performances by the band especially Craig who just rips on the guitar on practically every song and even Grace is in excellent form. A must!
  • Officially reissued by ShroomAngel, this CD gathers together the 1977 demos recorded by a group of musicians based in the Canterbury section of London. The music is spacey, with Middle East overtones and occasionally reminds of a minimalist version of Steve Hillage.
  • Audience 8.8 - A historic concert showcasing the full orchestra, this was to be the final evening for them as it was all dismantled due to financial disaster. The recording is quite good though, vocals have marvelous presence, and the music comes through pretty well with some cluttering (we are talking about dozens of instruments here) in the center, but you will appreciate this in many ways. A real find for the collector,...pretty much indispensable.

Original price was: $23.49.Current price is: $22.29.
Audience 9.0 - Ok, so here’s the deal with this one – skip past the first song because it’s toast, the levels were not set and the distortion is off the charts. After that the taper readjusts levels and off we go to a really nice, atmospheric and clear recording of a powerful show.

    KISS – Fresno 1979 (1CD)

Audience 8.7 - This recording makes the band sound like they are in a smaller venue, when I know they aren’t.
  • FM Radio 9.4 - Pretty slammin’ stuff here. The band is pretty hot around this time, very confident, with a good set list. Occasional static does make a presence on this tape, but it kind of lurks behind the music rather than over the top of it.
  • Audience 8.8 - A great, atmospheric and electrically charged show! Not a lot of heaviness to the bottom, but there is a roundness there, a pleasant to the ears mid rangy kind of sound with a lot of articulation on the high end (not shrill!) which causes the slide work from Duane to fill the hall and make for tons of electricity. Collectors will love this one. Now, one small thing to report, there is sometimes some minor static on the tape (barely noticeable) but it’s no bother. Get this!
  • Audience 8.4 - A tape that seems like it’s been heavily re-worked to clean it up and give it some life. Pretty decent, leans towards the upper frequencies a bit, lacks some punch in the center, but it is still a good one.

Soundboard 9.8  - Another example of why collectors consider these two shows (this and the previous night) as Zeppelin at the absolute top of their game. Thankfully captured from the board in mind numbingly good quality both sonically and mix-wise.
  • Audience 8.8 - One of those recordings where the taper must be right in front of the house P.A. system but he knows how to adjust the levels and so gets a super high energy recording with minimal audience interference. This is one that just goes right to your brain, it’s super exciting and heavy!
  • Soundboard 9.4 - What a great year for Santana, really it all came together 71-72 and they were smart to record a number of shows in preparation for the live album release that became known as "Lotus" (the Japan 1972 show which is great). Any one of these other ’72 shows could have been the album as they are all stellar.
