• FM Radio Broadcast 8.8 - A tape that has held up decently over the years but does not have the expected clarity associated with a radio broadcast. That being said, it’s still very good, has the depth and dynamics just enough for a progressive rock performance on par with the likes of ELP. Great material here…a band that should have continued on but for disco taking over and what not. • Soundboard/Audience matrix 9.5 - Here you have a recording that does both of the things you want in a live concert experience – clarity and punch via soundboard and ambience, immersion, electricity of the audience. The audience recording being blended in really adds to this experience, even when you hear excitable fans clapping nearby…it’s quite exhilarating really and this recording will eventually be hailed and revered by fans because…well, unfortunately because of the passing of Taylor Hawkins (RIP). • Audience 9.7 - There’s no way this isn’t a professional recording, it’s too good and it doesn’t come across as a board tape but it could be, if they used some ambient mics and mixed that in but either way this is simply spectacular. If you are wondering how Eddie must sound now with so many years removed from grunge I have news for you – he sounds as good as ever and his band is great, and the songs he performs in his set are all great. • Audience 9.0 - Recorded in the middle of a whole lot of fun but retains a nice focus on the music throughout. When you listen, you begin to fully kind of appreciate the aspects of an audience tape that soundboards simply don’t provide – there’s an immersive quality to it, as long as the audio fidelity is good you can relive the concert through the taper and his position in the audience. • Soundboard 9.0 - A large, open air festival “board” tape which probably uses some open stage micing. I would venture to guess this must have been a difficult show to control, and a recording made with an eye for a broadcast that they fought with every step of the way. That said, it’s pretty good stuff under all the circumstances. • Audience 9.5 - Astounding! This, this is beyond devastating. Personally, I have to put this right up there with hearing Museo Rosenbach for the first time. How do I arrive at this?  Because, in 2021 you sort of don’t expect this old 70’s era Italian prog band to move the needle other than just reliving past glories. Oh how wrong that is…for starters, their SOUND is massive, powerful, dynamic, energetic, and TIGHT. Their material is amazing, complex, unpredictable, moving, and absolutely just devastating. I challenge anyone to find a modern band that can pull something like this off with such panache. Heavy is more than just distortion folks…it’s a lot of stuff and these guys just know what heaviness is from decades of experience. • Soundboard 9.6 - I was unfamiliar with this band, so listening to this stuff was a real eye (and ear) opener for me. They are quite good!  The sound quality is excellent as is the mix. Everything was in the best place for maximum enjoyment. Highly recommended. • Recorded in 1977 by a group of musicians who brought different perspectives into the equation. Very much an English folk psyche type of record but features a lot of Eastern influence with the introduction of Sitar, and tablas (and other sounds), an ethereal vibe permeates as Moog synthesizers weave in and out of the music. Lots of heavy, mystical vibe on this one.
