Studio quality 8.8 - A somewhat dated sound here, but clear and clean and straightforward. CCR were very song based as a band but man, they can also free-form jam with the best of them. Here is some evidence of that. Creedence Clearwater Revival (aka. CCR) with Booker T. Audience 8.8 - This came from a collection of tapes that were recorded by a couple who had the permission of the venue, so you would expect them to be done with more precision and care….but the story goes that they never listened to the finished results and therefore were unaware of the flaws in all of their efforts, mainly being signal overload. Now, this is where modern technology comes in to the equation – because after all these years we are able to notch out the offending frequencies and now the tapes sound VERY good! Listen to the difference, go back and find a pre-mastered version of this show and then listen to this one. It’s amazing, really amazing what a well trained ear can do for some of these old artifacts. This show also happens to be an inspired performance too, so win/win. Audience 8.8 - What this tape shows is that Vanilla Fudge were loud as hell on stage. That Hammond organ, it filled every square molecule of space with massive sound. No other bands at the time were using an organ quite like this! But, it’s fun to hear, if a little dated perhaps. A loud tape that barely stays together at full volume but miraculously manages to capture the event in good form. Vanilla Fudge .... Audience 9.1 - Some tape hiss present, but you won’t notice when the music is playing because it sounds so good. High quality gear was used to capture this show; that is obvious to these ears. Eric Clapton (with some help from Carlos Santana and Keith Moon) Inglewood Forum, August 14, 1975 Disc 1

Soundboard 9.7 - Not all board tapes are exceptional, even if they sound good. What makes for an exceptional one is whether it sounds “live” or not, and this one most definitely does! Audience 7.8 - The venue had a pool in front of the stage, so it stands to reason audience taping had to be midway back making for a not so great sound quality although listenable (not distorted, not horribly muddled) and historic (a unique venue that played host to top tier artists in their prime). The tapers sound like a couple of English gents speaking throughout the show in their proper English which makes for a fun commentary of the show…I mean, it’s half the fun of this recording! A neat little piece of rock history here. Not essential, but kinda neat. Audience 8.7 - Very clear, and good atmosphere which really helps this music a lot. It seems the music is more dynamic with the sense of excitement the crowd gives. Audience 8.4 Sourced from three different tape recordings, all audience, to make a complete show. Not that bad, but you aren’t listening to this for the high fidelity anyway. This was a celebration, a monumental event, as were pretty much all Stones shows from 1972 on. So, yeah, rowdy crowd, noise, all that and more. But, you know, I listen to these and I still enjoy them a lot. It’s the event that I hear, I really don’t care if I don’t get every detailed note I mean it’s the sloppy Stones isn’t it? Audience 8.4 - A loud and raucous tape (and show) that is a rollicking good time despite some minor hiss and lack of precise clarity. It’s not bad though, I mean, it’s a true capture and delivers the vibe and excitement of the evening. The Runaways 'Live In Norway' Chateau Neuf, Oslo, Norway Thursday June 22nd, 1978 Track List: 01: School Days 02: California Paradise 03: I Wanna Be Where The Boys Are 04: Gotta Get Out 05: Waiting For The Night 06: Little Sister 07: Come On 08: Drive Me Wild 09: Wait For Me 10: Alright You Guys 11: I Love Playing With Fire 12: American Night 13: Queens Of Noise 14: Wasted 15: Rock And Roll 16: Wild Thing Line-up: Joan Jett - Lita Ford - Sandy West - Vicki Blue.

Audience 9.2 - A big and warm sound here, with excellent clarity and dynamics. The music at full blast gets just a bit of overload (not distortion, but just a sense of the wall of sound thing) all in all it is safe to say this one is highly recommended. Audience 8.8 - A very good recording that has an excellent high end clarity, low end is not as sharply defined but is definitely “big” and can be felt in your gut. A welcome addition to the Who collection for sure, especially since this was early in the tour when the band was still playing However Much I Booze.
