• Formed in 1972, Hands were originally called Ibis, and then a series of name changes which eventually led to Prism, which they were widely known as, until things got serious. With the production of high quality studio demos, they were forced to change names again, this time for good - with the name HANDS.  These early recordings capture them at a time before the studio quality demos, when they were still working small clubs and colleges and playing a lot of covers (albeit very interesting ones).
  • This is the first release on the Shroom Productions record label begun in 1995. It consisted of tracks mostly from Hands 1977 January Sound recording sessions in Dallas, TX.   The CD was put together from that plus an assortment of other tracks because, at the time, it was not known if there would be another Hands CD, we just did not know what the demand would be. Well, some 3000 copies later, and there is STILL demand for this great music. Numerous reviews and consistently high ratings give praise to this band and this CD in particular. Discover them if you have not heard any of their music, I mean, if you love bands like Gentle Giant, King Crimson, Kansas, Yes, Camel, Happy The Man, Gryphon, Greenslade, UK, or PFM.
  • The second CD released by the ShroomAngel label featuring vintage Hands studio recordings. These recordings make up what would have been the bands 2nd LP and date mainly from 1980. This is officially reissued by ShroomAngel Records.
  • Released in 2002 on the ShroomAngel Records label, this has been officially reissued in this format.  This studio album marked 25 years of the bands existence (hence the title).
  • Radio Broadcast 9.4 - Smooth and crisp with great bass definition and spot on drum mix. Pretty much a must have.
  • Soundboard 9.5 - Outstanding pre-FM source material that showcases one of the top shelf “Krautrock” bands of the early 70’s.
  • Pro 9.3 - Sonically superior but the truth is it all depends on what you want out of the live mix. I think its fine myself but some may have opted for more up front vocals. Overall it is quite good.
  • Audience 8.7 - A little squashed with guitar kind of low, vocals not bad, drums and bass OK although there’s no great separation of instruments. The good news is the louder you get the better this sounds, strange I know. The show itself? Good rock and roll, what else can you say about these guys?
  • Audience 8.6 - A middle of the road tape that starts off rough as taper situates himself (and a rather rude bump occurs in the middle of Welcome To The Jungle) but do smooth out a few minutes in and gradually sounds somewhat better. A large venue sound complete with that telltale "verb" and slightly boomy, but one thing you get plenty of, and this is key, Slash. At the expense of Axl, you get a heaping dose of Slash and that is fine. Quieter numbers and interludes sound way much better than full tilt volume. I suggest exploring this one if you already collect the band's live shows and do not have this one yet - it's good, it's not great, but to the band's credit I have yet to hear them do a subpar performance and this show is pretty darn good. • Audience 9.4 - This is a band that has attained the kind of status that warrants a serious examination of their live "bootleg" catalog. In particular, I think the years 1987 to 1992 are the important years, and any tapes that are listenable are considered collectible but the ones that are excellent, as this one is, should be sought out. Why? Because Guns 'N Roses was more than the sum of their parts, and the music that happened on stage more often than not seemed to hold that most elusive quality - Magic. Guns N' Roses Memorial Coliseum Los Angeles, CA October 22, 1989 01 It's So Easy 02 Mr. Brownstone 03 Out Ta Get Me 04 Welcome To The Jungle 05 Move to the City 06 Patience 07 My Michelle 08 Slash Guitar Solo 09 Rocket Queen 10 Only Women Bleed Intro 11 Knockin' on Heaven's Door 12 Paradise City Axl Rose - vocals Izzy Stradlin - rhythm guitar Slash - lead guitar Duff McKagan - bass Steven Adler - drums
  • Soundboard 9.5 - Two tapes have surfaced and both are very strong. The tapes are so good they should be officially released. A good one, rare and certainly worth the time and effort. THE GROUNDHOGS - Quinn Abbey, UK 1971 Disc 1 1. -Mistreated 2. -Split part 1 3. -Cherry Red 4. -Split part 2 5. -Groundhog Blues 6. -Still A Fool 7. -Garden 8. -Eccentric Man Disc 2 WMC Studios, CA, June 8, 1972 1. -Eccentric Man 2. -Music Is The Food Of Thought 3. -Still A Fool 4. -Split part 1 5. -Groundhog Blues 6. -Cherry Red - Split part 2 Tony McPhee - guitar, vocals Pete Cruickshank - bass Ken Pustelnik - drums
  • Soundboard 9.4 - Includes an intermission Audience source. Do you know your Krautrock then? If so, than you may not want to pass on this one. A rare show, a strange show, a wild night. Excellent document complete with loads of photos, and excellent sdbrd audio.
  • Soundboard 9.4 - Professionally mixed, and it shows.
  • Audience 9.0 - The recording levels are a bit low, but there’s plenty enough headroom in the recording to allow max volume and it sounds killer.
  • Osaka 2019 SDBRD 9.4  - This is how you do it if you want to become rock stars. I don’t mean the performance, I mean record yourself and let the tape out so you get bootlegged. Anyway, it’s Led Zeppelin 2.0 for the uninitiated.
