Audience 9.5 - Why such a high rating? Because this sounds as if you are standing right in front of the stage, on Brian May’s side, and there’s no distortion. Amazing. You are there, it’s a feast for the ears…it’s ear candy…have some! -
Audience 9.0 -
Audience 7.7 and 7.5 - The Gaelic Park show is an outdoor show and the band struggles at times to tune up but it is the better of the two in terms of clarity and sonics, with maybe just a bit of extra treble boost present which puts guitar into the forefront. The Academy of Music gig is not as present and bright but it is perhaps more even, with a broader spectrum of instruments in the mix although guitar is now downplayed. I would say both recordings deliver different characteristics which help the listener get a better sense of the rare live Ramatam experience -
Audience 7.4 - Missing some dynamics but clear and strong. Maybe not from a master source, but it's not as if there are bunches of Rare Birds out there! -
Audience 7.6 - Don't confuse this with anything they committed to vinyl back in the day. Not what I would call restrained Italian progressive music here - more like power prog pre-metal heavy riff bashing Italian flavored rock! Killer killer killer. While it is an aud with limited dynamic range due to tape limitations, certainly the power and glory comes across well enough. What a revelation for me to hear this band live. I certainly have a new appreciation for them! Hells yeah! -
Audience 7.3 - While not quite as good as the Messina show, this still presents a powerful representation of the live Il Rovescio Della Medaglia. A little of the distinction and separation of instruments not coming through as well but I found plenty to appreciate on this one as well as the other -
Audience 8.5 - Good levels, not the best separation of instruments but it is very live and active, really kind of sounds accurate to what you may have heard if you were sitting center about 20 rows back. -

Audience 7.5 - Dirty sounding but actually guitar comes through fine! There’s a little noise in this tape, I am surprised nobody has tried to remaster this fine show. -
Audience 9.5 - Pro recording that will have the hairs on the back of your neck standing. Only one flaw, the vocals are a little buried in this mix until about a quarter of the way into the first song but then they fix the mic problem and its smooth sailing. -
Audience 8.6 - The number score doesn’t tell the story on this show. The “flaws” here work to the advantage of the listener depending on what you like about live recordings. In this case, it’s too loud, a touch distorted (not distracting at all), and maybe slightly compressed but man, what a show and the recording delivers max energy and excitement. I LOVE this tape! It is absolutely brimming with power and energy. -
Audience 7.0 - Shrill sounding, like recorded on a very cheap cassette deck. Lead guitar does sound decent, and there is a bottom end – but I can’t rate this higher. -
Audience 7.5 - A warm sound, a tad distant but not too much. Good for a large hall, the sound of the kick drum for instance has a good solid thump that is distinct, and I can hear individual bass notes. Pretty decent! -

Audience 9.2 - Supremely LIVE and vibrant with maybe the slightest touch of tape noise that effects this absolutely zero because it simply DESTROYS everything, it is so good. -
Soundboard 8.8 - Not without its share of problems, this is a good tape to have. I can’t explain the strange phasing issue, with what sounds like a funky stereo to mono and back again drop out every so often. Needs a good remastering with some multi band compression. Still, it’s a soundboard. -
Soundboard 9.0 - Extremely bright, very clear with a highly defined bass although it is not a “low end” bass, just defined. The signal is pushed a little hard, but there’s no distortion present. The cymbal crashes are prominent in the mix to a degree, but get properly subdued during guitar solos. These are nitpicky observations for what is clearly an impressive recording and show. -
Soundboard 9.4 - I love the live mix on this one, it’s not a cookie cutter board mix. One of the best I have heard! -
Audience 8.7 - The tape starts off with some phasing issues but gets progressively better and by the fourth song is pretty solid. -

Both Shows - Audience source - 1st source 6.9 2nd source 6.4 - Historical document! Do not confuse this with being a modern, hi-fi experience because it is most assuredly not. One of only a few 1967 shows in existence, we have two different tape sources for this one, both on one disc. That is cool. -
Audience 7.2 - When it comes to The Stones, you can’t deny that ’69 to ’72 is where you need to focus. That’s how it is with me, and therefore ANY tape that comes along from that time period, I want it. So I wasn’t completely disappointed with this audience tape, even with its obvious limitations. -
Audience 8.9 - Raging electric blues recorded as if you were right there. Fantastic! -
Soundboard 8.8 -
Audience 8.6 - What is great about this tape is that again you have a situation where the highs are completely intact, in some parts maybe too much, but it lends itself perfectly to EQ’ing since you have no worry about losing highs. Great live energy, a great performance (when does he not?) also. -
Soundboard 9.2 - A very clean, dry board with dramatic emphasis on guitar as it should. A study in how to rock the blues without falling into same old same old, I mean, the man was a living riff machine! -
Pro Radio Broadcast 8.8 - A fine recording that manages to allow some nice atmosphere into the mix. -
Pro 9.7 - Studio recordings of impeccable quality. -
Soundboard 9.3 - Clear and bright, a solid recording with the only real fault that I find in the mix is a little “sloppiness” with the cymbals but other than that…sit back and enjoy! -

Audience 9.1 - Highly enjoyable, sound fluctuates at times where taper is probably jockeying for better position but overall I rate it highly as it is a good immersive capture. -

Audience 7.2 - A rare show, but sadly no Necromancer. -
Audience 8.6 - Go ahead and crank this, the louder it gets the better it sounds. -
Audience 7.4 - Someone mastered this, it sounds so much better than what I remember. Good Job! -
Audience 7.3 - Raucous show, loud but does not distort. Not too bad. -
Soundboard 8.7 - Technically a clean board but the mix is great if you are a drummer. I exaggerate, it’s decent, but yes this is one to play for aspiring drummers as Neil is well recorded and mixed. There are some minor negative complaints I can make to the recording, but they are on technical levels and most ears will be receptive to this soundboard. -
Audience 7.8 - A must have for any serious Rush fan. One of the best early shows you will ever hear, and I mean on many levels not just sound quality – this one is good but not great – but man oh man, just get this and you will know why I rave about it.
