Boston 1981 FM Broadcast 9.0 This is not bad, I detected maybe a little trace of signal interference but not enough to destroy this audio. It may be kind of like a background “fuzziness” or something but I find this to be a very good representation especially being a crowd that knows the music and the band very well. I think the band responds and delivers an exceptional performance. San Francisco 1981 FM Broadcast 9.4 Very strong in every category, a recording with depth and a band that delivers the goods. London 1981 Audience 8.8 A decent tape with maybe a little “crunchiness” to it but overall it rates well and can be thoroughly enjoyed. Studio 9.0 - The quality does vary but it stays within a general high quality 8.9 to 9.3 range because the material is from a wide variety of sources such as the studio, TV, radio, and live. An interesting introspection of the artist beginning with very early tracks pre-Sugarcubes. Soundboard 9.6 - A great sounding board because it incorporates the crowd, meaning that the engineer set up an ambient mic and those kinds of recordings are overall better than straight into the board line recordings.

Sale!Audience 8.8 - A solid and punchy recording that delivers bass and vocals in super detail. Drums come through real nice too, guitars and keys, while not as up front in this mix are still present in a stereo pan where they sit nicely because it gives the recording a balance. It’s easy on the ears and maybe more accurately replicates what you would have been hearing had you been sitting in the tapers seats.

Sale!Audience 8.5 - A significant evening for the band as they headline their first show, just after being booted from ZZ Top tour. Sounds fine, taper does maneuver at times and the movement is picked up on the sensitive mic, but overall this is very listenable if not overly dynamic. Good to have it, a very important show in Black Crowes history.

FM Radio Broadcast 9.5 - One of the best, if not the best, Black Crowes gigs I have ever heard from start to finish. It’s even listed in the top three of all time (at #1) by the Black Crowes fanbase. A must have!

FM Broadcast 9.7- Brilliant sound, and so nice to have this because you get the full on experience with a great band and the great back up vocals of Ruby Starr (I honestly would not have minded at all for her to be the singer and Jim the washboard player and back up singer!). This is great stuff, really is. Audience 8.6 - A serviceable recording that I am thankful to have in that it captures an exceptional night where the band is simply on another level, especially Ronnie James Dio. The dynamics do not impress, and there’s a lot packed into that upper mid band frequency which is barely hanging on but the good news is that it does hang on, and you do get pretty much everything in a reasonably comfortable way. I welcomed this one, and the bonus is that taper recorded the opening act too, which is included here for completeness.
