  • FM Radio Broadcast 9.5 - One of the best, if not the best, Black Crowes gigs I have ever heard from start to finish. It’s even listed in the top three of all time (at #1) by the Black Crowes fanbase. A must have!

  • Audience 8.7 - Recorded with reel to reel tape machine, this is actually very good although it begins with some fluctuations as the tapers settle in. They do an admirable job throughout as the tape stabilizes, they comment here and there but keep it to a minimum, as is the crowd noise. So, it’s a relaxing and enjoyable experience, the band sounding like they are not willing to sell out just yet as their set is not necessarily a top 40 showcase which is good actually. Some hits, but a lot of deep and meaningful music. • Audience 8.8 - A tape that should really be enjoyed by everyone even remotely interested in Pink Floyd. Pretty solid one, and a band playing with confidence after having worked out arrangements during the previous lengthy tour. • Audience 8.6 - A clear tape that EXPLODES from your speakers…but maybe because that is because the levels are really hot (but next to no distortion!) and it makes for a ridiculously electric sounding show. It’s like, man, I am here, my ears are melting and my mind is blowing! Way better than the previously circulating high gen tape, this is from the master reels and it shows. • Audience 8.7 - A bright tape, not so much depth of sound but certainly clear, and crunchy, with a prominent guitar that fills most of the space here. Give it five minutes and you will be having a good time and appreciating this line up because it is quite good…and so was the Dehumanizer album. A good time for the band, a good batch of new songs and a band that is totally gelled with each other. BLACK SABBATH Star Plaza Theater Merrillville IN. • Audience 8.8 - You know right away that this is a decent recording but it takes a song to find the sweet spot. You keep hoping it opens up more, and it does, and then just sit back and enjoy…until the power failure (hence the title). Things are resolved quickly though and the fun begins again. A delightful show! Rush Sports Arena, San Diego, CA February 3, 1986 This might be a new source put into circulation. This date has never been on TTD. This was the Power Windows tour, and ironically, the band has a power failure durng Marathon, after the power returns, starts Marathon over again. • Audience 8.7 - A nicely atmospheric recording without reverb which is nice. Sound mix is good, you hear everyone in pretty good detail. Sounds like it might be maybe 1/3 of the way back in the hall but it’s done with good equipment seems like. Overall a good recording here. • Soundboard 9.5 - So I haven’t kept up with this band since Steve Morse joined. I’ve always loved them, but they just fell off my radar. It was with great pleasure that I reacquainted myself with them as I reviewed this show. It’s multi-layered, multi-dimensional music with some resemblance to the old band if Ritchie traded places with his Southern fried twin brother!  I mean, it works, don’t get me wrong – but it can fool you because it’s not Ritchie’s band by any stretch. I like this one maybe a little better to be honest. This is a “deeper” Deep Purple actually, and the orchestra behind them makes it that much more interesting, if sometimes a little bit “cabaret” but it still rocks when it has to and the guitar work by Morse is impeccable. • Soundboard 8.8 - A real surprise, and a real treat this one! The band is playing a college campus and having been on the road for a while their chops are all finely honed. It’s so nice to hear a tape where Terry’s guitar is articulate and clear and not buried in the mud. This is NOT a muddy tape, if you are getting tired of hearing all those muddy early 70’s tapes out there, this one is for you. Chicago Stephen F. • Audience 7.8 - A recent remastering job has brought out much more of the music in this tape. It once circulated for a while in unlistenable quality, which is why you are probably unfamiliar with it. Now, it was rescued from the original reel to reel it was recorded on and spruced up a bit. I can honestly say it is MUCH better! That is all relative of course to the actual sound of this tape – which is average even though it’s clearer than before by far. What is happening is the music is all blended together with only vocals riding over it, to where you get distinct definition on them but everything else is hard to decipher…I mean unless you aren’t counting stadium bass/drum sound. To be completely fair, I listened to most of this show and my ears did adjust, and I started to get more out of it. • Audience 9.3 - Superbly done, even if it gets off to a slow start with taper getting into position…but from there it’s just an amazing capture with enough ambience and overhead to give you an excellent sense of space and time. • Audience 8.9  - Another great tape of the band’s News of the World tour, this time the second night at the LA Forum in March of that year. • Audience 8.3 - I find these early club dates fascinating. It sounds closer to Taste than anything he was doing on subsequent tours. The guitar work is more off the cuff, edgier maybe. This recording features a pretty clear and up-front guitar, with vocals next and kick drum following. It’s good, a little hiss present, but to have tapes like this to hear the early period Rory post-Taste is most welcome.
