Audience 8.6 - I wanted to give this a better rating, and truth is it ain’t bad, but it is a little distant and the music lacks punch. It is clear enough though, and audience actually helps propel the energy level up a notch. Austin music fans are always up for a great concert and really show their enthusiasm. Also, I think the set list around this time was put together very well and flows nicely. Audience 8.7 - Nothing offensive here, a capture with more than enough headroom to EQ to taste, which shows me the tapers knew what they were doing with the levels. Thank you. -
Audience 8.4 - A tape that I am sure has slipped through the cracks and has been forgotten by collectors when I don’t think it ought to be. It’s surely not the greatest recording, and it’s also not nearly the worst – but it’s from a really great period and tour, some of the best moments for Rush seemed to occur on the European leg of the 1979 tour. You can listen to the infamous Offenbach or Pink Pop tapes as proof, but this forgotten old tape, having been dusted off and given a fresh re-mastering, is ready to be added to your collection. Audience 7.4 - A scratchy, distant, and cluttered recording of an energetic show (band and audience). Is it worth getting? It’s on the ragged edge if you ask me, but as a completist you will find that it is not unlistenable muck, thankfully. It is interesting to hear a veteran touring band giving it 100% effort even if the city is other than New York, LA or Chicago. Just another tour stop, in the deep south no less, but there’s Rush giving their fans their all, night after night. God Bless Rush! -

Soundboard 9.9 - The rating says it all. You all know I do not easily give ratings that top 9.8, so it has to be really special to get something like this. An excellent soundboard is not enough, in this case the source is from a multi track soundboard so it was recorded with intent and not for reference only. Audience 8.6 - Taped by the same person using the same gear so there is only minor differences between these shows which are related specifically to position, and it sounds like taper was in roughly the same general position for each show. Very consistent throughout, although just to be super detailed I have to prefer the second show which seems to be slightly closer to my ears. The quality is very clear, leans towards the upper end of the sound spectrum but not too harsh, only to the point I think you could add some bass and that would really allow these shows to satisfy. They are all very good, bass would put them into the great category. Audience 8.8 - This is a very decent tape, with a few minor cuts that do not ruin it at all, but the atmosphere and crispness of the tape is refreshing and makes for a most enjoyable listen. Audience 8.6 - A recording that is very clear but dangerously close to being too crisp on the highs…but thankfully it doesn’t sizzle and ruin anything. It’s still very good – might could use more thickness, but you will probably be able to enjoy this show and certainly are welcome to boost the low end which will help.
