• Soundboard 8.9 - The band is in really fine form here, the sound is good with maybe a small amount of compression which rounds the highs down a little but a nice mix and that performance wins the day. • Audience 8.8 - A very atmospheric recording that gives you an amazing sense of space and proximity to the action. The music has room to move around, so it’s a natural sounding recording and the listening experience benefits greatly. Sometimes at full volume when the band is really cooking, the music gets a little bunched up but the tapers were good with levels so it does not offend and I appreciate that. This is a real gem!
  • Audience 8.8 - This sounds like what the gig probably sounded like, which is why I refer to this as a “capture” as opposed to a “recording”, and I hope you understand what makes the two different. A soundboard is a recording, and to be honest it doesn’t actually “capture” the event, it is what you would have heard if you were running the live sound for the band. Make sense? • Soudboard 9.7 - Beautiful fullness of sound! Saweet!
  • Audience 9.1 - A good, clean and bright recording that is clear and detailed. Maybe I would say it could use more bottom end but I am nitpicking, it’s got all the essential things a listener needs to be able to “relax” when listening. You don’t have to strain to hear everyone on stage but mix-wise I would place bass and drums more to the back, relatively speaking, on this tape. • Audience 8.8 - A surprisingly great tape! Very wide spectrum and a solid, in the pocket mix. Great show too!
  • Audience 8.6 - A lively tape, with an almost “bar room” feel to it. • Audience 8.5 - A little lack of depth and overall dynamics but pretty clear, well mixed capture here. Stevie sounds good!
  • Soundboard 9.6 - Great live mix, like it was recorded for a release. Drums are tight, guitar is slamming, vocals perfect.
  • Audience 9.5 - Astounding! Not just for the excellent sound but the dynamics are so present here, you get lush, rich lows and then all the way up through the spectrum including detailed but not sizzling highs. Combine all that with the energy of Tusk performed with a marching band at the LA Forum and man, yeah, this is the stuff! • Audience 7.5 - This is direct from the open reel master tape. There is some limitation to the capture (slight oversaturation) but I would say this is a pretty fascinating document.
  • Audience 9.1 - What a find!  This tape exudes raw power, and hearkens back to the original sound and style of the band much more so than what would be just a year and a half later. Does that mean it’s a raw blues rock show?  No, but there is a lot of that here, and more than that it’s the TONE of the band. Gritty, mean, raw but tight…fierce!  The quality of the tape is VERY good…well worth snagging!
