Soundboard 9.7 - As crystal clear as it could possibly get. Why it doesn’t get a 10 rating?  Because in my opinion a perfect recording is not just crystal clear but has numerous other elements that separate it from just another clear board tape. Not to denigrate this at all, because it is great – but a crystal clear near perfect board tape is just that, a near perfect board tape that does not reflect ambience, atmosphere, vibe (although not always), and other elements of a live concert. St. Louis 1974 Soundboard 8.7 - A little on the slightly muffled side but being a board tape you do hear everything. It will sound much worse than it is if you listen to disc one first (normal operating procedure) but I have to say this recording is still worth having for fans of Steely Dan as they did not tour much and so there's only so much from 1974. Studio Quality 8.8-9.4 None of this is bad, however there is going to be some hiss on some tracks but it’s not annoying at all. Overall it’s all great, some very very interesting stuff going on here too. Various sources used throughout so sometimes uneven but a noble effort was made to remaster those bits so it flows better, and it does. I like this, it’s a pleasure to listen to because there’s a lot of varied material. Audience 8.5 - A pretty clear but somewhat distant tape, with Ozzy being front and center followed by Randy and then some tin can drums and little to no real bottom end – but you do hear the notes played which makes this one to investigate as it is not very well known about. As I listen, I think the selling point is indeed how relatively clean and clear it is, a good capture all in all. Drums get a little better… the bottom end remains thin though.
