• Audience 9.3 - It never ceases to amaze me that after all these years tapes like this still keep surfacing. This is really clear and bright, I am having a tough time finding things to complain about here. There’s plenty of headroom to flavor the sound to your liking, if you want to add more bass, yeah, this is just a perfect palate to do so. Anything you do will only make it even better because the core audio is uniquely suited for attenuating without negative consequence.   • Audience 8.4 - They should call this tape “Noise In The Attic” ha ha! Actually, I am being very tough here, it’s a bright tape, it favors high end but is not too screechy…I just need more low end personally. That being said – vocals are in the front here, followed by Joe Perry, so that is crucial to this being a worthwhile listen. Taper has to hide his gear once or twice, so you occasionally hear the inside of his coat. Not too many 1975 period tapes out there, I am thankful for this one…you will be too, especially when the coast is clear and taper brings the mic back out (makes for a really refreshing audio moment!).   • Soundboard 8.8 - A very old sounding tape that received a recent “facelift” giving it some more punch while reducing tape noise (without compromising any high end). What you end up with is another very good early performance (whilst the band was still doing some Pretties For You numbers) in very good quality. I never get tired of the early Alice Cooper stuff, even if I still don’t understand “Sun Arise” ha ha!   • Stuttgart 1970 Audience 9.1 - A sometimes startling tape in that in certain sections of the performance you could swear the effects are swirling right over your head. A clear (with a little hiss but not a bother) and highly enjoyable tape! Saarbrucken 1970 Audience 9.3 - A tape that has tremendous depth, really if you play it loud you can imagine you are there. There is nothing about this tape, and show, that I do not love.   • Audience 9.4 - Before you write off the late 80’s Eric Clapton, you REALLY need to look deeper for a minute. This performance, and this recording, clearly demonstrates the reason why one should examine the totality of an artist’s career, particularly if said artist was as prolific and talented as Mr. Clapton. The edgy, electrified sound of Clapton’s Cream days is gone and that is ok so long as you still get the TALENT, and many of Clapton’s performances (at least on tape) sometimes lacked the elements that you would have hoped for, despite his undeniable songwriting prowess…it was the PLAYING of the guitar, and the sound of said guitar, that we craved. Here, along with his pal Mark Knopfler, all of that is delivered and the audio quality does the whole thing justice because it is excellent. I think playing with Mark elevated Eric’s game. Hearing them do “Money For Nothing” together was cool, and Mark decided to sing in his own “bluesy” way in deference to Eric. Sweet! Eric Clapton feat.   • Studio Quality 9.5 - I am thankful for this because it has further taught me to appreciate and respect Clapton’s musicality, and his desire to remain true to himself first and foremost. If you listen to this music without preconditions you realize it’s pretty good and if the man’s name was not Eric Clapton, you’d be thinking this guy should be much bigger.   • Audience 8.7 - This recording is better than it has a right to be, after all it is in a big stadium, early 70’s so the gear, if it doesn’t weigh 80 pounds, has to be cheap crap…but, dang it this sounds cool!  Granted, instrument separation isn’t great (it is good enough), and it isn’t super close up, but all that still does not detract from how stompin’ this is.   • Truly somewhat of an oddball release, this album stems from a long lost rehearsal session by a bunch of stoned South African teenagers in the late 60's. Not much was even known about them, not even at the time as the band never gigged or recorded a legitimate album. Still, the music reverberates with manic acid rock intensity. You've been warned!
