• Audience  9.0 - Immerse yourself into a great show, great set list, great sound!
  • Audience  7.5 - There is some tape hiss present, and a little bit flat maybe but a great early period show that does not have the typical sound flaws (no boominess, not too distant, not distorted). It’s great for the vintage, all instruments heard, and a good jam.
  • Audience 9.1 - Great stuff here! A wide, ambient, but solid capture. This recording has some kind of magical ability to place you in a seat close to the stage and hear what probably was the actual PA sound, not colored by tape machine or microphone limitations. Well done, well done! • Audience 8.9 - Thankfully we have this amazing document because it’s quite fascinating. The sound is clear and bright, and has LOADS of ambience and immersive quality although I would not say it is “deep” or very rich sounding. It’s certainly kind of a typical guerilla recording but that someone went through the trouble and actually got the whole show in admirable fashion to me is the amazing part. The audience response to Donovan is the other amazing part and lends a lot to the excitement of the show. Really, really interesting one! • Audience 9.7 - Brilliant, clear, deep, good atmosphere, and even though it is pushing the meters it still has some headroom so crank this one up and hear for yourself why I always say a great audience tape beats a soundboard.

  • Audience/Soundboard 8.6-9.0 - The majority of the set is very good, audience quality tapes that have a decent enough sound where you can take it easy and not strain yourself trying to hear George rip his leads. I would say the lone exception though might be the Amsterdam tape which is less clear, but even here it's not a trainwreck at all. The board tape from France is good to have, obviously Dokken is clearly the top of the heap when it comes to the 80's "hair" metal bands although I hate to classify them there because they were class musicians first.

  • Soundboard  9.0 - A very energetic show and a great tape that allows an appropriate amount of atmosphere to permeate.
  • Audience/SBRD 8.8/9.3 - This is the good stuff. Both shows excellent, the Osaka aud. tape is quite good, very lively and clear. The band is in their prime, they had loads of confidence and bravado and it shows. Dokken Osaka, Japan December 3, 1985 Disc 1 1. Unchain The Night 2. Tooth And Nail 3. When Heaven Comes Down 4.
