Great, and I mean GREAT live atmosphere that totally puts you in the moment. A real treat for the music enthusiast and collector – even the guys who swear they won’t listen to any audience tapes. Soundboard 9.7 - I love the way they recorded the vocals, it has a very cool quality to it, such that it lends that sort of electric spark to the proceedings. This is very energetic set by the band. -
Soundboard 8.7 - Sounds like it comes from a video source, with some of that compression factor present. For such a major stadium act, there are surprisingly few tapes out there of him. -
Fillmore East 1970 Soundboard 8.8 - Clear although not bristling with perfection is a very good early period SMB recording Honolulu 1970 Soundboard 8.8 - A tape that needs one song to dial in the live mix but then gets much better. Still, it’s very good but not sparkling and bright…just good enough to rank pretty high in the category of the formative Steve Miller anthology of concert tapes. San Rafael 1970 Soundboard 9.1 - This is a really nice recording that exemplifies why it is so cool to hear tapes of an artists’ earlier career works before they made it to the big time. This certainly shows the vulnerability and the possibility at the same time. An artist who is still not 100% convincing but clearly has the tool set necessary to advance…and advance he did! Soundboard 8.8 - Somewhat dated sound, and a touch of hiss, but by golly this is pretty good stuff considering the age! For those who thought Steve Miller began with Fly Like An Eagle, you may want to hear the raw bluesy psychedelia he was rooted in. -

Audience 9.3 - Very well placed mic allows the perfect balance of instruments in a setting that seems to breath, there’s space for the music and the audience to provide ideal atmosphere and balance. -
Audience 9.6 - Exciting and full bodied, this is what I want from any recording from the modern era…there’s no excuse for a sub-par bootleg post 1980 in my opinion. PA’s were better, recording gear better (that may be subjective), but the point is it SHOULD sound great from 1991 and this does – and not only that but the band JAMS!

Studio and Live - Excellent source material used, especially the studio stuff. The June 10, 1979 performance is perhaps the weakest tape here but one can still hear all the action from the stage even if it sounds a little far back. Fans consider the Accolades set to be a classic piece, it’s easy to hear why. -
Audience 8.8 - Captured live at his home away from home, Fitzgerald’s Club in Houston, this is perhaps one of the very best small club gigs ever recorded. It has a certain vibe, perhaps that is why this show has a very special place in the hearts of SRV collectors. -
