Austin rural rock that had built up a good following and had incredible promise but for some reason their first recorded album never got picked up by anyone and remained shelved. As far as I know, this CD is the only way to hear this lost album, it's so obscure not even the track names are known. The band did change their name eventually and recorded another album which I know very little about. -
Prolific San Antonio progressive hard rock band responsible for carrying the torch for over 45 years. This is the only known complete live recording of them, you'll hear a mix of originals and prog rock covers played to perfection. -
We got this tape years ago when it was submitted by a customer of ours who thought we would be interested in it. He was from Ohio, and told me he was friendly with the guys in this band. He managed to get their demo recording and sent it on behalf of the band. That was around 1986, and the recordings dated around 1983. That was the last I heard about it. Decades later, I rediscovered the tape and decided it was time. Heavy and complex, the first track of their demo tape was 45 minutes long! As you can imagine, there were no labels that took them on...except me of course! -

Audience 8.1 - This is actually an admirable capture, getting the entire performance with relatively few (if any) cuts. The tape is not that bad, it is just pretty old and struggles to contain the entire frequency spectrum so you get a tiny bit of “static” where the band is really loud and jamming. It’s pretty clear though, and thankfully the guitars shine through well, with a good rounded bass holding down the lows. -
Soundboard 8.8 to 9.1 - Some fluctuations here and there but overall it’s the stuff everyone wants, good clean and loud vintage Allman Brothers. Thank you sir may I have another? -
Formed in 1969, legendary heavy Southern psyche rock group Josefus took Texas by storm, recording a monumental LP (Dead Man) and touring throughout Texas in 1969 (opening act for Grand Funk on most of the Texas dates). Somehow, through all the craziness, they have kept it together (original singer and guitarist) all these years and continue to record and play live. This CD showcases an exceptional live performance on one side (this was originally done on vinyl which is now out of print) and a rare 1978 studio session on the other side (was lost for over 35 years!). A killer disc! -

Hard rock group from Houston active during the mid 70's and were primarily known as a covers band, playing many of the well known clubs in town. They recorded a handful of original songs in 1975, and disbanded following some unfortunate incidents while on the road. A single 7" record was released, however, and gained enough traction that rhythm guitarist Jimmy Lee Dean decided to continue on and recruit new members (the era known as Jeremiah MK II). This version of the band recorded a full length LP which never saw the light of day as the manager absconded with the master reels soon after the sessions, and nobody heard from him since. Eventually, we rediscovered these masters and attempted to transfer them in the studio but the tapes had severely degraded, the material, such as it is, is also contained on this collection. A 40th Anniversary reunion concert occurred in 2014, and excerpts from that show are included on the 2nd disc. All known recordings of this band are included in this package. -
Hard blues rock band formed in 1975 in Houston, TX. Featured vocalist BB. Watson who left Houston to pursue a career in Nashville as a C&W singer. He had some fleeting success, eventually came back to Houston and worked with Michael Knust (Fever Tree) and Keith York (Albatross, Rare Breed) for a stint and also attempted to reunite the Rare Breed (those sessions contained on this CD). Rare Breed also featured the guitar of Robert Hampton before he joined Hooker. These are all the known recordings. -
Audience 8.7 - This is a very bright and clear recording from close to the stage. Loads of electrifying atmosphere – you literally are planted right in between the tapers close to the stage and you really sense that. -

Soundboard 8.8 - This is the one the fans have all been waiting for. There are a lot of recordings out there from this period but NONE sound like this! Ferocious! The drums are frightening, vocals up front and scary AF. Midrange is a little busy, but it all sounds so much better than what I am used to listening to, and you know the reality is that unless you are listening to a board tape, this band is damn hard to listen to just because of the cacophony they generate on stage. Audience 8.7 - This is a GREAT 8.7, and what I mean is that while technically speaking the sonics are not ideal, the entirety of this recording is GREAT! It has a feel to it, it captures a moment in a highly tangible way, from the feeling of being in the pit, to the sense of time and space, and the "in your face" nature of the audio itself. All in all I really enjoyed this for what it is and it is something I can definitely recommend highly. Audience 8.8 - The sound of this recording owes almost all of its characteristics to the house PA sound. What I mean is this: The recorder very accurately captured exactly what this gig sounded like, and so if there is any particular thing that is not as good as it could be, we need to talk to the sound man. This tape captures this show in excellent quality, I would say the rating reflects more what the sound itself actually was like at this show - not great (for me I just did not love the drum sounds, and thought the guitars could be louder) but really very good. I think it is a matter of preference then, because some people might really like the way this show sounds coming out of the main PA system. Studio Quality 8.6-9.5 - I was not expecting this to be anywhere near this good. I kinda just assumed it would be a collection of 4th gen cassette tape garbled noise. It's far from noisy and garbled, it's actually DAMN good! Maybe two or three tracks out of the lot are a bit less clear and dynamic, but those are the minority here. All in all, this set rocks! Soundboard 9.4 - Clear and bold (especially percussion) capturing a very fine creative period of the band (the dual guitar with Neal Schon being especially notable). I did notice a slight amount of distortion in the lower frequencies but it's barely noticeable. The mix does change towards the end of No One To Depend On and a lot of the boominess and excessive volume is dialed back so it mitigates any distortion present. SANTANA Denver Coliseum Denver, CO. London Audience 8.7 - A decent recording that remains consistent throughout. Everything comes through, albeit not with a lot of detailed anything, just good overall clarity and decent mix. I would commend the taper because I know he had to have battled with the Hammersmith Odeon acoustics, loud audience, louder band, and consumer grade gear and yet still managed a good capture. Brussels Audience 8.9 - This is a strong recording and finds the band performing at a very high level. Good sound balance, and though you get a sense of the sheer volume, it does not stress the tape.
