• Soundboard 8.3 - I found a lot to sink into with this very early Megadeth recording. First off, it’s better sounding than the old tape that floated around for a while, as someone took the time to re-master it and pitch correct it which makes a big difference. It’s still a little narrow and thin, but you’ll be blown away by what you are hearing, if you have even a mild interest in the formative years of Megadeth, this show is a must. Band: Megadeth Venue: Country Club: Reseda, CA, USA Date: September 19, 1985 Time: 42:20 The last show with Mike Albert (who was replacing Chris in the tour). Setlist: 1. • Audience 9.7 - Wow! This is one badass recording! Great seats, great atmosphere, phenomenal sound, and great performance. This is the real deal, get it! • Audience 8.6 - A surprisingly good recording, given what had to be less than ideal conditions – small nightclub, primitive gear, etc. But they pulled it off, and captured what one might think of as Roxy Music’s “rookie card” since it is like their 2nd gig of their first US tour. Very very cool! • Soundboard 8.8 - A real surprise, and a real treat this one! The band is playing a college campus and having been on the road for a while their chops are all finely honed. It’s so nice to hear a tape where Terry’s guitar is articulate and clear and not buried in the mud. This is NOT a muddy tape, if you are getting tired of hearing all those muddy early 70’s tapes out there, this one is for you. Chicago Stephen F. • Soundboard 8.9 - Great performance here, one of the best I have heard quite frankly. Having just ditched the classic line up, you would think a downturn in performance caliber would occur but I do not get that here at all.

  • Soundboard 9.3 - This is an average of the rating that I confidently can say spans the entire set. There is some minor variance in the first disc being that is taken from four different sources, but consistently good. The exact date of the last disc (the rehearsals) is unknown but believed to be ’93 although people say it can be as early as 1989 also. I’ll let the experts decide but I have gone with the general wisdom of it being from ’93. • Soundboard 9.3 - A great recording of a great hair metal band (I mean, they could play!) in their prime. I used to brush it off when I was a young man, but now I appreciate great musicians not matter how they dress or act. Good is good.

  • Audience 8.6 - A recording that is very clear and bright but lacks low end…but do not take that as saying this recording is too thin. It’s got just enough in the middle and bottom to allow you to attenuate the recording to your liking and in that regard you will find yourself going with this one often. It’s not a one and done show at all. GREAT find and appreciated a little bit more being that it’s a Grace Under Pressure tour gig which for some reason there’s not a plethora of excellent recordings from this tour.

  • Audience 8.2 - A recent re-mastering has helped this old tape IMMENSELY. I mean, it took it from a 7.3 to an 8.2 which is significant. For that reason alone, people who have had this one should now upgrade.
