Audience 8.8 - A very pleasant, easy on the ears recording. There's a lot of positive atmosphere and some mild audience participation but this is definitely one you can get into. Not much from this tour, so it is very good to be able to hear them as they were in 1982. Electric Light Orchestra Saarbrucken, Germany March 4, 1982 Disc 1 1. Twilight 2. Yours Truly 2095 3. Audience 8.9 - Just the right amount of sonic clarity and separation of instruments with “live atmosphere” to make for a realistic listening experience. Sounds much like what you could have expected having been there. This was also the last show of the tour. Excellent! -
Audience 8.8 - A show new to circulation, it presents a severely under represented period of the band. Not too many tapes have surfaced (and no known videos) so whatever we can get, we appreciate. Here, taper did an admiral job even though he's clearly immersed in a boisterous audience. There is plenty of audience present, but thankfully what you get most of is a relatively clear and atmospheric ELO on a great night. There is a touch of overcrowding within the mid-range frequency, but nothing that distorts so there's zero muddiness and maybe less low end that you might prefer. Overall I have to say it fits nicely into my ELO collection right next to the one or two other 1981 shows (like I said, few and far between).Electric Light Orchestra Civic Center Hartford, Connecticut Time Tour 1981Disc 11. Audience 8.8 - A nicely atmospheric tape that is very clear, with pretty decent instrument separation and emphasis on vocals so you hear every lyric. Nothing is drowned out in this mix!
