Audience 8.8 - A very pleasant, easy on the ears recording. There's a lot of positive atmosphere and some mild audience participation but this is definitely one you can get into. Audience 8.7 - A recording that, while it does not open up to reveal a heck of a lot of depth, it is clear and present, with thump and some big arena bombast. The vocals do not appear up front in the mix, and low end is not highly defined although very present in a "feel" sense, the entirety of the sound can be roundly enjoyed though, as the relative clarity and presence of the band give this old tape credibility in the collector world. Audience 2 Source Matrix 9.2 - The best part here is how awesome the bass and drums sound together - so massive yet enough detail to separate them nicely. Guitars and vocals occupy essentially the same space in the mix, neither rising high enough to hog the bandwidth. So, all in all I think this matrix gives us the best possible audio of this show and that is a really good thing!

Audience 8.8 - This here is a very nice tape! It also shows the band firing on all four cylinders (yes, I am afraid this is only a 4 banger but this engine puts out more horsepower than a 12 cylinder Lambo!). London Audience 8.7 - A decent recording that remains consistent throughout. Everything comes through, albeit not with a lot of detailed anything, just good overall clarity and decent mix. I would commend the taper because I know he had to have battled with the Hammersmith Odeon acoustics, loud audience, louder band, and consumer grade gear and yet still managed a good capture. Brussels Audience 8.9 - This is a strong recording and finds the band performing at a very high level. Good sound balance, and though you get a sense of the sheer volume, it does not stress the tape. Soundboard 9.4 - Clear and bold (especially percussion) capturing a very fine creative period of the band (the dual guitar with Neal Schon being especially notable). I did notice a slight amount of distortion in the lower frequencies but it's barely noticeable. The mix does change towards the end of No One To Depend On and a lot of the boominess and excessive volume is dialed back so it mitigates any distortion present. SANTANA Denver Coliseum Denver, CO. Studio Quality 8.6-9.5 - I was not expecting this to be anywhere near this good. I kinda just assumed it would be a collection of 4th gen cassette tape garbled noise. It's far from noisy and garbled, it's actually DAMN good! Maybe two or three tracks out of the lot are a bit less clear and dynamic, but those are the minority here. All in all, this set rocks! Audience 9.4 - This is a band that has attained the kind of status that warrants a serious examination of their live "bootleg" catalog. In particular, I think the years 1987 to 1992 are the important years, and any tapes that are listenable are considered collectible but the ones that are excellent, as this one is, should be sought out. Why? Because Guns 'N Roses was more than the sum of their parts, and the music that happened on stage more often than not seemed to hold that most elusive quality - Magic. Audience 9.0 - This is actually how The Bangles should sound live. This is as punk as I have heard them. Audience 8.8 - A pretty decent recording which might be a touch on the thin side as the deepness of bass is lacking, but still enough meat on the bones to be worthy of the collection. Vocals come through clearly, drums do sound good too and the overall sound mix is very even. Audience 8.8 - The sound of this recording owes almost all of its characteristics to the house PA sound. What I mean is this: The recorder very accurately captured exactly what this gig sounded like, and so if there is any particular thing that is not as good as it could be, we need to talk to the sound man. This tape captures this show in excellent quality, I would say the rating reflects more what the sound itself actually was like at this show - not great (for me I just did not love the drum sounds, and thought the guitars could be louder) but really very good. I think it is a matter of preference then, because some people might really like the way this show sounds coming out of the main PA system. Audience 8.7 - This is a GREAT 8.7, and what I mean is that while technically speaking the sonics are not ideal, the entirety of this recording is GREAT! It has a feel to it, it captures a moment in a highly tangible way, from the feeling of being in the pit, to the sense of time and space, and the "in your face" nature of the audio itself. All in all I really enjoyed this for what it is and it is something I can definitely recommend highly.
