Audience 8.8 - Anytime you get a halfway decent sounding GFR show you grab it, because let's face it these guys were just balls to the wall loud and normal taping gear could not handle it. But, every once in a while you find something...and again it serves to remind just how badass this band was. This is a really good recording considering how mind-numbingly loud it had to be there. It is not clear as a bell, but it's got some great qualities and is clear enough to hear each band member well...and the POWER geez, oh man it's insane here. Glasgow - Audience 8.7 - A great tape to hear the very beginnings of Ozzy's solo career. and the brilliance of Randy Rhoads. Clear, and decent separation of instruments. Newcastle - Audience 8.5 - Slightly muddy but it has the bones of a good tape recording. I feel like if this old tape was re-mastered with AI tools it would shine. Nothing is buried beyond salvation here, in fact I would say if you just keep listening your ears adjust to the sound and it gets better and better. Thankfully guitars are distinct, vocals too, it is really the bottom end that is a bit diffuse and rumbly. Audience 8.9 - Quite an interesting tape, the proximity to the stage makes the energy palpable - good mix of both guitars and the amazing tone they had at this time. I am happy to say that this is well balanced, with a decent sonic quality that makes it more interesting to the ears than a board tape. Audience 8.4 - A distant recording without a lot of dynamics but the audio is clear enough especially vocals and guitar. Low end is not in abundance but the bass notes are audible and distinct which helps this tape become something collectors should want, it is, after all, a 1975 concert and fills that part of the collection. The take-away? A guitar-centric tape, a great show, worthy of the collection but not winning any awards for scintillating dynamics. Soundboard 9.1 - A somewhat dated sounding tape (a touch of hiss, and a very slight amount of distortion on the cymbals during at least the first 20 minutes as the soundman dials it in) but it is a treat to hear these songs in such good quality. My review is subjective, I think it's a fine recording but I have to nitpick seeing as there's a very steady supply of Santana soundboards. Audience 9.8 - Ethereal, intense, clear, atmospheric, and just about as good as your ears can perceive an audio recording to be. The sound mix is just spot on, and each instrument occupying it's own space just allows you to take a minute here and there to focus on whatever instrument you want...but always drawing back to Steve because let's face it he's a total badass. Audience 8.4 - This is not hi-fi by any stretch, but what it represents is a rollicking good time as only this band was capable of doing. In the mix is mostly Ron Wood and Rod Stewart, with a overdriving bass backbone that forces the intensity of the sound volume. It's a full bodied tape, no bones about it. With modern mastering tools, it has been brought under control...somewhat. Hey, I have heard MUCH worse than this, and once the ears settle in to it, what you have is a recording that delivers the fun and electricity of The Faces. Recorded in 1977 by a group of musicians who brought different perspectives into the equation. Very much an English folk psyche type of record but features a lot of Eastern influence with the introduction of Sitar, and tablas (and other sounds), an ethereal vibe permeates as Moog synthesizers weave in and out of the music. Lots of heavy, mystical vibe on this one. -

Audience 8.7 - This is a good and reasonably clear (some tape hiss) recording which reminds me a lot of the Hamburg 1971 recording. I would not be surprised if this was done by the same guys. As a bonus, there is a third disc containing the film footage of Atom Heart Mother from this show. It should be playable on most players, this disc is formatted as a video disc (compact disc containing an MP4 file), if you have any problems please let us know. It should play fine on your computer, and most DVD machines will know what to do with it. -
