  • FM Broadcast 9.7-  Brilliant sound, and so nice to have this because you get the full on experience with a great band and the great back up vocals of Ruby Starr (I honestly would not have minded at all for her to be the singer and Jim the washboard player and back up singer!). This is great stuff, really is. • FM Radio Broadcast 9.5 - One of the best, if not the best, Black Crowes gigs I have ever heard from start to finish. It’s even listed in the top three of all time (at #1) by the Black Crowes fanbase. A must have!

    BLACK CROWES – Houston 1991 (1CD)

Original price was: $16.49.Current price is: $15.49.
Audience 8.5 - A significant evening for the band as they headline their first show, just after being booted from ZZ Top tour. Sounds fine, taper does maneuver at times and the movement is picked up on the sensitive mic, but overall this is very listenable if not overly dynamic. Good to have it, a very important show in Black Crowes history.
  • Audience  8.5 - Somewhat subdued but it is clear enough to get all the music coming at you, just less dynamic than I would prefer. The guitar is the prominent instrument in this recording. Still, pretty good.
  • Audience  9.1 - Lively and bright, and super clear with nice headroom that allows the sound to breath. Highly enjoyable!

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION – Norwegian Jade Cruise 2018 (2CD)

Original price was: $23.49.Current price is: $22.00.
Audience 8.8 - A solid and punchy recording that delivers bass and vocals in super detail. Drums come through real nice too, guitars and keys, while not as up front in this mix are still present in a stereo pan where they sit nicely because it gives the recording a balance. It’s easy on the ears and maybe more accurately replicates what you would have been hearing had you been sitting in the tapers seats.
  • Audience  9.6 - Superb, right in the pocket with ferocity.
  • Soundboard 9.6 - A great sounding board because it incorporates the crowd, meaning that the engineer set up an ambient mic and those kinds of recordings are overall better than straight into the board line recordings.

  • Studio 9.0 - The quality does vary but it stays within a general high quality 8.9 to 9.3 range because the material is from a wide variety of sources such as the studio, TV, radio, and live. An interesting introspection of the artist beginning with very early tracks pre-Sugarcubes. • Boston 1981 FM Broadcast 9.0 This is not bad, I detected maybe a little trace of signal interference but not enough to destroy this audio. It may be kind of like a background “fuzziness” or something but I find this to be a very good representation especially being a crowd that knows the music and the band very well. I think the band responds and delivers an exceptional performance. San Francisco 1981 FM Broadcast 9.4 Very strong in every category, a recording with depth and a band that delivers the goods. London 1981 Audience 8.8 A decent tape with maybe a little “crunchiness” to it but overall it rates well and can be thoroughly enjoyed.
