Soundboard 9.2 - A lot of free form jamming here, what they call Mountain Jam is really made up of some improvisation before the band goes off into this more structured jam, and the show is a little condensed but sounds like it is much longer than it actually is. Soundboard 8.8 - Good to hear this material live, the band was so good in 1971, this board tape reveals that.Alice Cooper St. Louis Arena St. Louis, MO December 17, 19711. Intro - Be My Lover 2. Soundboard 8.8 - A very old sounding tape that received a recent “facelift” giving it some more punch while reducing tape noise (without compromising any high end). What you end up with is another very good early performance (whilst the band was still doing some Pretties For You numbers) in very good quality. I never get tired of the early Alice Cooper stuff, even if I still don’t understand “Sun Arise” ha ha! FM Broadcast 8.8 - A tape that sounds…1978. That doesn’t mean it’s bad at all, it’s just a rather dated sounding broadcast to my ears. That means it kind of captures the time period rather well, and the quality itself is pretty good, but not exhibiting the usual dynamic of an FM broadcast. Not enough 1978 era tapes of excellent quality though, so grab this one. Soundboard 9.0 - A mix that captures the band firing on all cylinders, certainly you have to say that Alice Cooper had total command of performance throughout his career and if you worried that his drinking might affect him onstage, well listen to these early shows. I hear no signs of inebriation. In fact this is extremely tight and strong performance wise.Alice Cooper Civic Arena Pittsburgh, PA, USA December 27, 197101 Be My Lover (4:48) 02 You Drive Me Nervous (2:28) 03 Yeah, Yeah, Yeah (4:38) 04 I'm Eighteen (5:34) 05 Halo Of Flies (9:47) 06 Is It My Body (7:05) 07 Dead Babies (5:35) 08 Killer (4:45) 09 Long Way To Go (2:55)Vincent Furnier (Alice Cooper) - Lead Vocals Glen Buxton - Lead Guitar Michael Bruce - Rhythm Guitar, Keyboards, Backing Vocals Dennis Dunaway - Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals Neal Smith - Drums, Backing Vocals

Audience 8.8 - This rates highly as a new audio tape discovery from decades ago you might have low expectations but it’s a good, clear (but for Alice being a little low in the mix) and I would say powerful show in sound and performance. Studio Quality 8.9 - The quality is great but you have to get past the first song and a half as there is some static present. Once you move past those tracks you get some very interesting studio rehearsals and outtakes. I love the rawness here, it’s very visceral and powerful.
