• Studio Quality 9.7 - Overall the quality is superb, a couple of songs maybe just a couple notches down but none here that is less than excellent. Obviously these versions are not what was on the album but some are pretty close, just some different mixes, maybe alternate guitar workouts and maybe Mick is trying some different vocalizations but it’s still another angle on a great album. Why do all these “modern” era Stones albums seem to age very well. Because they were and are good, fact! • Studio Quality 8.8-9.4 - None of this is bad, however there is going to be some hiss on some tracks but it’s not annoying at all. Overall it’s all great, some very very interesting stuff going on here too. Various sources used throughout so sometimes uneven but a noble effort was made to remaster those bits so it flows better, and it does. I like this, it’s a pleasure to listen to because there’s a lot of varied material. • Audience 8.2 - From tape source not LP, this recording has some tape hiss present, but it’s not overwhelming the music. Music sometimes seems a little muddy but then clears up a little then returns to a little muddy. It’s not bad though, it’s much better than most of the multi gen STP tour audience tapes out there. • Audience 8.7 - Easily one of the best recordings of the 1970 Euro tour. Mick and Keith really project, the sound is forceful, and even though you do get the rest of the band (and yes, Mick Taylor for sure), they are playing second fiddle to the Glimmer Twins. • Audience 8.5 - Should be a higher rating but for the mastering where the mids are so hot. Put this through your Equalizer and bring the mid band down a little bit and you have a very strong recording. The highs are insane, not screechy just detailed, and the low is present, so just fiddle with the mids because it’s just too hot there.
  • Audience 8.1 - In the pantheon of ’69 Stones audience tapes, this one ranks as one of the more listenable ones. The recorder levels are low, so some tape hiss comes up at volume, but it is relatively clear, no murkiness (which historically is a sound killer), and you actually distinguish very well the two distinct guitars (but still sometimes can’t tell where Taylor ends and Keith begins (which is kind of what they strove for anyway). • Radio Broadcast 8.0 - Not a vibrant, clear document but the amazing thing is that you can hear the band playing over the crowd! That was not typically the case around this time. Stuff like this is important when put into its proper context, this is the birth of modern rock and roll actually. • Audience 8.5 - an interesting tape, sometimes flawed but quickly recovering. It’s an old tape after all, and I am glad someone dug it out of their shoebox and made it available. The stadium PA systems all have funny mixes sometimes, with how things are panned, etc. etc. and this one is no exception. I get more of the synthesizers and a very articulated bass which is actually very cool because normally Bill is just a rumble. ROLLING STONES ATLANTA,GA. • Pro 9.7 - There are loads of Rolling Stones studio session tapes out there but the year of 1982 for some reason has not been well documented…until now. Two discs full of sparkling outtakes, jams, seldom heard songs and more. It’s really great, I got totally into it from the first track. The Rolling Stones ALL MIXED UP 1982 Studio Sessions Disc 1 01. • Audience 7.2 - When it comes to The Stones, you can’t deny that ’69 to ’72 is where you need to focus. That’s how it is with me, and therefore ANY tape that comes along from that time period, I want it. So I wasn’t completely disappointed with this audience tape, even with its obvious limitations.
  • Audience 8.7 - I rate this as very good and it is, but a typical review might not explain what makes it so very good. It’s not the greatest live mix or sound, but it’s a tape that delivers real magic despite itself. The Mick’s (both of ‘em) are the highlight, both are more prominent and both are on top of their game. • Soundboard 9.1 - In this recording, what you will notice right away is the massive sound that they dialed in for Charlie…very different but I like it!  The rest is OK, not as full bodied as I’d prefer it to be but it gets the job done. • Soundboard 8.8 - This is more than likely exactly what you would have heard had you bought this comp back in the 80’s. It has remained true to the original 1972 US Tour boot, which as you know gathers the soundboards from the tour and compiles them in such a way so as to present a dream set list (no song duplication). Sourced from a variety of shows, this is basically a road tape for lack of a better description. The Rolling Stones North American Tour Summer 1972 Tracks recorded at Vancouver, Houston, Ft. This is part one of what will be a collection of all of the known recordings from this tour...and that means you get the good, the bad, and the sometimes very good. It's a nice way to collect all of these recordings and to have it in a really beautiful metal canister that nobody else you know will ever have! ROKY ERICKSON – Baton Rouge 1982 (2DVD)

Original price was: $23.49.Current price is: $22.00.
Rare footage shot with Sony open reel video system (CV-2000 tape format B/W). Entire performance spanning 2 discs (encoded for optimal quality). This comes from the 3/4" Umatic master tapes (CV-2000 reels transferred onto 3/4"). Quality is fair, poor lighting hampered the video shoot, but for historical purposes most fans will find this fascinating due to the exceptional performance of the band and Roky in particular.
  • Audience 9.3 - Another spectacular capture that presents a detailed soundfield and plenty of atmosphere to sink yourself into the show as if you were there. Excellent!
  • Audience 8.9 - Most of the recent tour recordings are excellent and all offer something different for the ears in terms of atmosphere, intensity, and clarity. This one I find has less of an emphasis on separation of instruments and more on depth of bass and overall sound. The guitar comes right at you, and the bass is nicely anchoring the bottom, drums are not as clear but still nicely placed. So, overall I like what this recording delivers.

  • Audience 9.4  (both shows) - Expertly recorded from optimal position with high end gear. Clear and nuanced, with some headroom allowing for the atmosphere of the event to add another dimension to the sonically excellent captures.
  • Audience 9.4 - Almost sounds like a radio broadcast, and you’d be forgiven for insisting it is such, but to me it sounds like a good transfer from vinyl of a great audience recording, with some artifacts occasionally (like momentary drop-outs). The track listing on the cover differs slightly from the disc tracking but whatever was recorded by this source is present and accounted for. Other sources exist, and are inferior, so no patching was done to fill out anything missing. Seems like a complete show, maybe one song missing?

  • Audience 8.9 - A great effort here by the taper, it’s got a little bit of that “just about to break” quality, where the limits of the tape are just about reached…yet it holds together. This gives the recording an unmistakable intensity, and for that I rate this highly and say it will be most enjoyable to the listener. Soundboard 9.8 - Great presence on vocals and guitars, bass is completely in the pocket and the mix is flawless. I am glad the keyboards are not buried because they add so much to the sound.
  • Audience 9.7 - This is the result of VERY diligent and committed tapers. First: get there early. Second: don’t leave until the last bit of sound comes out the P.A. Then, do a damn fine job! That sums up this experience, because that is what it is: An Experience. Well done sir!

  • Audience 9.4 - A wonderful, warm, full bodied recording that beckons you in from the first note. Say what you will about Rod Stewart but his voice works with this stuff, and even here in 1982 as long as you can’t see him you can appreciate the rock and roll pedigree he brings to the stage. Yeah, I was rather turned off by his image for quite some time, but hearing him live you just find a way to look past that. • CD1 FM Broadcast 8.8 A little hiss present, and a little “compression” but a good tight sound nonetheless. The Miami 78 is Audience 8.3 With some big hall boom in the kick drum. CD 2 Audience 8.5 Thin in some places, but opens wider as it goes along. Taper possibly moves closer, and sound improves. CD 3 Audience 8.6 A loud, boisterous, beer soaked rock and roll affair with sound quality that I would describe as clear but missing some mid-band punch. It’s nice to have a chronological history sometimes, you get to hear a band just gain more and more confidence (not as if this band ever lacked any). This band’s sound and style really was custom made for these years but after that it dropped off the map. Too bad really, it’s a good time rock and roll music and transcends time. • CD issue of an album originally released in 1990.  Import from UK, CD is new, never played.
  • Delaware 1985 Soundboard 9.3 Nice to hear this period of Trower with a good, punchy board tape that does present a minimal amount of hiss (evident between songs) but other than that not much to complain about. W. Hollywood 1990 Soundboard 9.2 Technically speaking this would rate much higher as it is what one would call a “pristine” board tape. Yes it sounds crystal clear and Robin is literally singing in your ear (a bit much perhaps), but the rating reflects what I personally consider to be a downside of board tapes…the lack of atmosphere and reliance on perfect mix. This was probably mixed for the benefit of what was coming from the stage and not for the sake of the recording being made. It’s a reference tape is what it is. Contrast this to the next show in the set and you’ll begin to understand why I always say a great audience tape beats a board tape. Karlsruhe 2009 Audience 9.5 This show gets a stellar rating because while it is not technically a superior recording (mainly due to the very slight amount of overdrive) it represents most of what I love about great audience recordings. This recording captures the lightning into a bottle so to speak. The fact that there is just a slight bit of overdriven energy (for lack of a more technical term) or lets call it “saturation” for the sake of the audiophiles out there – either way the point is that this recording will get more repeat plays than the board tapes in this set. • Soundboard 8.8 - Not without its share of problems, this is a good tape to have. I can’t explain the strange phasing issue, with what sounds like a funky stereo to mono and back again drop out every so often. Needs a good remastering with some multi band compression. Still, it’s a soundboard.

Audience 8.6 - Very close to the mains, and it’s incredibly loud to the point that Robin can barely control his feedback. But the tape holds together, even if there’s some loss of vocal clarity, none of that even matters because after a couple of songs you are so bludgeoned by this devastating guitar/bass onslaught that vocals would be barely noticed anyway.
