• Audience 9.8 - Your ears will be telling you this HAS to be a soundboard, then the song ends and you hear the audience right next to you and you say to yourself “thank goodness I picked this one up” yes even though it’s an audience tape it will BLOW YOUR MIND it’s so good. • Audience  8.3 - Nothing overtly wrong here, but it is a tad on the hot side with a very tiny amount of break up in the highs where it is maybe pushing so hard, this could be tape limitation. It’s a good recording nonetheless.
  • CD 1 - Audience  9.6 CD 2 - Audience  8.8 CD 3 - Audience  8.9 Hot crisp and sweet recording.
  • Soundboard 9.8 - A professionally made recording that saw a digital only release. This takes that stellar download and presents it in uncompressed, lossless form for you to enjoy. Nothing quite like this mesmerizing blend of Eastern trance psychedelic and Krautrock, the band never lost a step and sound like they traveled through a worm hole in time/space to leap from 1974 to 2013.

  • Pro  9.0 - Both are excellent, bright, snappy recordings. Goes without saying if you don’t have this you should get it!
  • Soundboard  9.3 - One of the absolute best of the early Aerosmith recordings. Brilliant!
  • Audience  7.5 - Vocals are very up front, overall it’s clear but music is not “full” sounds a little behind in the mix. Add mid band compression and this one would smoke.
  • Audience 8.6 - This recording does not possess great dynamic range, but it is nice and clear and features some biting guitar and thankfully present vocals. It’s a good ’76 tape and worthy of the collection for sure. • Audience 8.5 - A fun recording to listen to, the quality is decent enough to where you can really dive in and not get fatigued at all…because let me tell you these guys really rocked out at this gig. If they were coked to the gills or drunk or whatever, I mean, I just don’t hear that. I hear a good hard rockin’ band! Band: Aerosmith Title: Reading Festival Date: August 27, 1977 Venue: Reading Festival, Reading, England 1 -Mama Kin 2 -S.O.S. • Audience 8.7 - This show features the return to the Spectrum, a venue they had recently played and for some reason decided that they needed to schedule another show there (perhaps they felt the last show there was below par?). Anyway, by all accounts it’s a better gig, and the audio quality is also better with clearer sound and better separation of instruments. The recording levels are a touch low, so you will have to turn up the volume (trust me it won’t distort or break up, it will get even better). Sounds like someone handed Joe Perry the wrong guitar heading onto  stage because he is way out of tune! He tries to tune on the fly, but sounds like he is given another guitar and things improve.  A weird start to a show! The band cranks through its classics at this point, an entertaining show to these ears. Good quality for a 1977 gig, straight from the taper. Enjoy!
  • Audience 8.2 - A scrappy document, immersed in the audience, band playing a large hall…but thankfully I can hear everything. Not much clarity when they are at full swing but I would say this tape still has its charms and collectors, if they don’t have it, may want to add it to the collection. Incidentally the band returned again to play Philly later the same year, and that show exists and is pretty decent sounding. Ah the old days! Band debuts "Get It Up" here, a whip-cracker of a tune...In fact that whole Draw The Line album rocks. People slag on it, but that "first side" is pure rock and roll genius, just has a flow and the rest is good too. If that LP came out today, people would shit their pants in joy. But I digress...this show is from the taper and solid quality. This is the show where Tyler and Perry got hit with an M-80 as they returned for the encore, so alas, there is no encore. But we also do not hear any fireworks blast as the tape simply shuts off after the Train Kept A Rollin'/Get The Lead Out jam. The band would return to the same venue just weeks later.
  • Philadelphia 1983 Audience 8.8 - This tape is very “live” sounding, especially the drums which seem to cascade around your head with Tyler being just slightly above the fray although the enunciation is not that great. Guitars are somewhat in back of things, so really on this tape it’s Tyler and Kramer leading the way in the mix. The good thing about this tape is that it is sharp and clear, the separation of instruments is not so much but at least it’s not muddy. I think Tyler is performing as well as he was capable…take it for what it’s worth but he’s good on this night. Ventura 1983 Audience 9.0 - A really good tape that captures quite the disaster of a gig…poor o’l Steven Tyler – lost his stage mate and now has to carry the weight on his own and man…slow motion train wreck on this night. I think this show is the musical equivalent of rubbernecking ‘cause you just can’t turn away you are drawn like a moth to the flame to hear Tyler royally butcher a rock and roll show.
