Audience 8.7 - Small club feel, and a good tape to learn what this band was about, since there's a strange sort of "Spinal Tap" mysticism about them that has endured. The old recording here sounds kind of dated, and there's a few occasional sonic oddities that pop up now and again (like gentle phasing) but thankfully these are short-lived. The tape here is not muddy or screechy, it is focused primarily on guitars and vocals in the mix, so season to taste with your EQ if you want to roll in some added low end. Brand New - This recording of Anvil's set from the 2nd Classic Metal Fest at Phantasy Nite Club, Cleveland, Ohio, USA on 12th July 2002 was professionally made for a prospective live album which never came to fruition. The whole set was then mixed & produced by Joe Kleon at G4orce Studios. Until today the idea of a live album remained shelved. -

Soundboard 9.4 - What I find most appealing about this show is the mix, and how they do not bury the guitar which is what you might normally assume given the type of “top 40” music Annie wrote at the time. You will be pleasantly surprised to hear the guitar front and center, and actually pretty grungy sounding. -
Audience 8.8 - The sound on this gets progressively better during the 1st song to the end due to the sound engineer dialing in the mix. Once it is set, the show cooks. This is a beginning to end recording, meaning you get every little moment of this evening, practically just travelling back in time to the evening of the gig then sitting in the crowd as the band does their thing. Austin 2007 Audience 9.6 - Excellent dynamics, strong recording signal that sounds like you are sitting right in front of the band. You can almost make out her diction of lyrics…almost ha ha! A lovely recording. Toronto 2007 Audience 9.1 - A good recording that features nice instrument separation and clarity, it isn’t as round and tight as the Austin show on disc 1 but it’s very strong in its own right. Audience 7.3 - This tape is a welcome find mainly due to the scarcity of live Amon Duul tapes in existence. Sound is not hi-fi, there is some tape noise, there is general noise, and there is music which thankfully can be heard through the din. Actually the mid to highs are intact, some bottom end is missing, it’s still not a completely annoying tape at all, can be enjoyed for what it is.
