  • Soundboard 9.4 - Even though I am less of a hardcore metalhead these days compared to, say, when I was in my 20's, I can honestly say I still enjoy listening to Megadeth music. The fact is, when you get a recording this good, when you can hear everything clearly, you better understand the genius that is Dave Mustaine. Let's face it - the guy is just gifted. How you can sing and play those insane, complex chord patterns, I will never know. • Studio Quality 8.7/9.0 - Here you have the ultimate rare collection if you are into that early, classic mid 80's Megadeth (which most are). I know this has had repeated plays in my house! • Audience 8.8 - A very pleasant, easy on the ears recording. There's a lot of positive atmosphere and some mild audience participation but this is definitely one you can get into. Not much from this tour, so it is very good to be able to hear them as they were in 1982. Electric Light Orchestra Saarbrucken, Germany March 4, 1982 Disc 1 1. Twilight 2. Yours Truly 2095 3. • Audience 8.7 - A recording that, while it does not open up to reveal a heck of a lot of depth, it is clear and present, with thump and some big arena bombast. The vocals do not appear up front in the mix, and low end is not highly defined although very present in a "feel" sense, the entirety of the sound can be roundly enjoyed though, as the relative clarity and presence of the band give this old tape credibility in the collector world. • Audience 2 Source Matrix 9.2 - The best part here is how awesome the bass and drums sound together - so massive yet enough detail to separate them nicely. Guitars and vocals occupy essentially the same space in the mix, neither rising high enough to hog the bandwidth. So, all in all I think this matrix gives us the best possible audio of this show and that is a really good thing!

  • Soundboard 9.4 - After the sound mix gets sorted out, and the vocals are brought up in the mix, this recording really takes off and blossoms beautifully. Deep rich bass, and a nice overall blend of the drums while highlighting the guitar. A lovely live document. • Audience 8.8 - This here is a very nice tape! It also shows the band firing on all four cylinders (yes, I am afraid this is only a 4 banger but this engine puts out more horsepower than a 12 cylinder Lambo!). • THE KINKS – New York 1978 (4CD)

    $36.49
New York 1978 Audience 9.3 - What a wild, out of control ride this is!  Not only perhaps one of the most engaging live Kinks bootleg recording (or at least in the top 5), It also may just be one of THE coolest bootleg audience recording of any band. Why? Why such praise?  It captures an intangible quality, that thing you can’t accurately describe with words…it’s a statement of sorts. We have a foundation rock band (first British wave) who have always been sort of disregarded but who refuse to pack it in, and here is why. These guys were punk before punk was a thought, and here they are a decade and change removed from their 60’s heyday, playing the birth place of US punk and they STILL can out punk the punks. Brilliant! Magical. A MUST! Buffalo 1978 Audience 8.7 - A very clear recording, good solid mid range and leaning toward emphasis on the high end which gives cymbals the little bit of crispiness that makes them heard and not washed out. Drums are highlighted and have a great sound too.
