• Studio Quality 9.5 - The average rating here in the mid 9.0’s because except for the occasional minor hiss, this material consists of professionally recorded, live in studio sessions. Good to have it all in a well constructed collection like this.

  • Audience 8.9 - A recording that seems to “rise above” the din because literally it sounds like the mic was over the crowd. It makes for a more immersive experience, and the fact that the dynamics are good and the sound is clear…well it just goes to prove once again that a well made audience tape is more than welcome in any real live music collection.

  • Audience 9.0 - A strong recording from what sounds like the center row, maybe halfway back but not as diffuse as you might think for being in that spot. Yes, maybe the guitar and bass aren’t separated the way you would prefer, but this was the sound of Rush in 2015, and on this show it is Geddy’s vocals that receive the most prominence. Overall it’s a very good recording with atmosphere and power.

  • Audience 9.5 - You can relax into this show, it's occupying a very pleasant space when the soundwaves wash over you and you begin to have a sense of the size of the venue, the space around you, and the distance from the stage. That's what I like about smaller venue recordings, and modern taping gear is getting so much better with the mic technology and level adjust that it's really hard to screw it up. • Brand New - Soundboard - Iron Maiden, a NEVER BEFORE RELEASED soundboard recoding from 1983. You can get any better than this! A must for every serious Iron Maiden collector!
  • Brand New - Soundboard -Ratt Live at Monsters Of Rock, Pforzheim, Germany, on 30th August '87. A Must for any Ratt fan! This band has no other official live album from their "hey day".
  • Soundboard 9.8 - It's been a blast hearing all these killer Nuge board tapes that have surfaced recently. This one is a rip-roaring beast, within the first three minutes you know your going to just get annihilated. The audio quality is redonkulus and the band is just amazing, as is Ted's scorching, ripping lead work. Fantastic! Ted Nugent Richmond Coliseum Richmond, VA. January 6th 1979 1. • Soundboard 9.2 - Some fiddling at the board to dial in the mix starts this recording, so bear with it because it does get better. This board is not as smooth and sparkling as the one on Volume 1, but it still kicks ass all day long. Ted Nugent Mississippi Coast Coliseum Biloxi, MS January 10th 1979 Disc 1 1. • Brand New - Soundboard - Here we have a totally unheard, uncirculated soundboard recording of Van Halen during their "Diver Down "tour ("Hide Your Sheep tour") on October 24th, 1982. This is the last of three consecutive nights Van Halen played at The Worcester Centrum in 1982. It appears that not even an audience recording of these Worcester shows have circulated previously.
  • Audience 9.5 - A truly wonderful recording here, warm and full bodied. Better than being at the show, certainly less expensive! • Audience 9.6 - Fantastic, spacious and fully enveloping sound with good, solid dynamics. Also I found the audio mix to be above average. Not boomy, all instruments present and clear, and Geddy placed in the middle as another instrument. Great stuff. • Audience 8.8 - This is better than I give it credit for, mainly because it has all the elements needed to be very enjoyable - namely: clarity, separation of instruments, and atmosphere. Where it lacks the necessary qualifications to enter into 9.0 and above rating status is more in the dynamics range (is low end low, is high end high, are mids clear and punchy?) which here are expressed mostly with the lovely, brassy and defined bass sound. This is good! But perhaps we are spoiled now with all the audio riches we have at our disposal. This is a very good old tape, with a re-mastering I assume it would rise to the 9.0 level, but the bones are here. E.L.P Odeon Theatre Birmingham, UK 1972-11-24 Disc 1 01. ABADDONS BOLERO 02.
