Audience 8.8 - A very decent recording for the vintage. Small club atmosphere permeates which gives this recording the legendary status it deserves. Audience 8.9 - A slight improvement over the 1st night recording, but only by the narrowest margin. I do hear more keys, but they tend to “blast” a bit here. Brand New - The classic Venom Performance recorded in early ‘90s at Marquee Club only available on VHS tape. With Tony “Demolition Man” on vocals, this show represents the best of Venom Mark II. -
Studio 8.7 - A little sonic degradation to these professional studio demos (the bonus tracks are abbreviated probably due to legal reasons at the time they were recorded). Some of the tracks are better quality, but the worst are still very good, just maybe a little loss of clarity and fidelity but nothing major. You’ll enjoy this if you are a fan. -
Brand New - Sealed Sound quality on all releases on this label is excellent. -
Audience 8.2 - Drums and vocals present, rhythm section just behind them but the recording is not suffering from typical large hall boominess or distortion so it offers a reasonable enjoyment factor to these ears. -
Studio Recording - This is actually a recent album (digital download only) of a band that first formed in Germany in 1969, and I knew absolutely nothing about them. Turns out they are really good! Their stock in trade is playing familiar progressive 70’s rock arrangements with the same vintage equipment used in their 70’s prime, but recording with modern facilities to get a full, powerful sound. I would say mission accomplished because this is quite good, and not only good but the fact that some of their older material is here in a reworked fashion that does it justice...which is kinda rare to find these days. Here you have the Plane Jane Demos (Jani Lane pre Warrant Band) and the very first proper sound recording of a Warrant’s show. Recorded at the legendary Gazzarri’s this show has some tunes never officially released by the band. Songs that did not make it to the first album! -
Herer are the Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich Demos! The band recorded 21 songs, some of them were left out of the record. So this CD as plenty of unreleased material for any Warrant’s fan to go crazy!!! -
Eric Turner made self-released CD called “Demos for Diehards” containing 11 unreleased tracks from Warrant’s early career. Here you have that same set of 11 songs plus a bunch of 6 unreleased tracks recoded though bands career in the 90’s. A must for every Warrant fan! -
Seattle 1977 Audience 9.3 - Captured in a smaller venue you get a great sense of the proximity, and the space surrounding taper as bits of chatter and background noises lend ambience. A great recording!
Upper Darby 1980 FM Broadcast 9.5 - This is from a KBFH reel so yeah, it’s fantastic.
Seattle 2000 Soundboard 9.6 - A board tape that manages to allow some of the room to seep into the mix so it’s a bit livelier and manages to convince the ear it is not Memorex…or is it?
