Audience 9.0 - A small club atmosphere puts you up close to the band and the respectful audience. The music is all-encompassing, it’s space rock with emphasis on rock, and It is quite interesting. Quality is clear, it’s not super dynamic but you can really sink into this recording and what is extra cool is the taper stayed for both sets leading me to believe they were connected to the band or their management. Maybe not, but it’s my guess. Cool stuff! Far East Family Band Troubador Los Angeles, CA Early Show 1978-03-24 First Performance in the United States. Audience/SBRD 8.8/9.3 - This is the good stuff. Both shows excellent, the Osaka aud. tape is quite good, very lively and clear. The band is in their prime, they had loads of confidence and bravado and it shows. Dokken Osaka, Japan December 3, 1985 Disc 1 1. Unchain The Night 2. Tooth And Nail 3. When Heaven Comes Down 4. Audience 9.0 - A really fine attempt to capture a loud metal band in a small club. Thankfully it seems the taper came prepared, he found his spot and delivers a stable recording of the entire show. FM Broadcast 9.3 - Terrific all around, for fans who haven’t heard much of these guys live, this is a real good place to find out about them. Formed in Dallas, TX. in 1970, they were very active gigging and recording (several 7" singles) and built a good size following by the time of their pinnacle in 1976. Their lead guitarist, Randy Nunnally, had even attracted the attention of National act Ted Nugent and was asked to join Ted as his guitarist for a tour. Unfortunately, at that same time, Randy was diagnosed with ALS and went downhill pretty fast, passing away a few short years later. This CD contains music found on their 7" singles as well as a fantastic live radio broadcast. All of the original master tapes were lost in a fire, this is all the music that could be found. The CD is dedicated to the memory of the late, great Randy Nunnally.

Audience 9.1 - What a find! This tape exudes raw power, and hearkens back to the original sound and style of the band much more so than what would be just a year and a half later. Does that mean it’s a raw blues rock show? No, but there is a lot of that here, and more than that it’s the TONE of the band. Gritty, mean, raw but tight…fierce! The quality of the tape is VERY good…well worth snagging!

Audience 9.5 - Astounding! Not just for the excellent sound but the dynamics are so present here, you get lush, rich lows and then all the way up through the spectrum including detailed but not sizzling highs. Combine all that with the energy of Tusk performed with a marching band at the LA Forum and man, yeah, this is the stuff!
