Audience 9.1 - A very bright and energetic recording that does NOT suffer at all from anything getting in between the band and the microphone because there’s nothing between the band and the recorder it seems. Soundboard 9.4 - This is a collection of all soundboard recordings and they all vary but all excellent. I gave a generally very high rating because all in all I think it rates at least in the mid 9’s based on not only quality of sound but of content as well. Note: I heard one audience recording on this CD but it was very good quality. Audience 8.7 - A rattling, rambunctious recording that you will LOVE because it’s the sonic equivalent of the Stones’ personalities. Sure, yeah, this recording is imperfect but it does NOT suffer from muddiness, rather the opposite, it’s very “sharp” and sometimes cymbal crashes irritate (not always), and yet I listened all the way through and had a great time with this show. The quality is not really an issue. This is a just a classic Stones gig and the fact we have the opening acts, man, that is amazing! Soundboard 9.0 - A classic old board from the fantastic 1976 European tour which has brought us a few amazing live works by this venerable band. Of course, by this time Ronnie is completely ingrained into the sound and style and one finds it hard to be overly critical of him compared to the very different Mick Taylor. Audience 9.1 - You have to really try hard if you want to screw up a stealth recording in this day and age – excellent equipment, great PA’s, decent venues…so thankfully taper understands and delivers a pleasant “souvenir” in this live tape. Morrissey – well I was never into him but gotta admit there’s a lot of talent here in the music and his deliver is appropriate. Soundboard 9.3 - A good, and raw board tape which perfectly suits the ramshackle, lurching Stones sound and style. Listen to how Mick sounds especially on Shattered – it’s perfect end of story but wait a minute Bill Wyman is actually present and accounted for in a way you never hear. A great live mix high energy soundboard and a must have. THE ROLLING STONES The Kingdome Seattle, WA Oct 15, 1981 CD 1 1. Intro: Take the A Train [01:51] 2. Under My Thumb [03:49] 3. Pro 9.7 - There are loads of Rolling Stones studio session tapes out there but the year of 1982 for some reason has not been well documented…until now. Audience 9.3 - This tape reminds me very much of the excellent Osaka 84 recording, it’s bright and atmospheric. I gave this one a very high rating because it’s right up there with the Osaka show. Soundboard 9.1 - Another Toronto recording to add to my growing collection and it’s a good one. The band does not sound like they are playing a show in the year 1988, to me they sound more 1978 to be honest. It’s a good, very solid show. Rush Maple Leaf Gardens Toronto, Ontario 8 March 1988 Disc 1 01 - The Big Money 02 - Subdivisions 03 - Limelight 04 - Marathon 05 - Turn The Page 06 - Prime Mover 07 - Manhattan Project 08 - Closer To The Heart 09 - Red Sector A 10 - Force Ten 11 - Time Stand Still Disc 2 12 - Distant Early Warning 13 - Lock And Key 14 - Mission 15 - Territories 16 - YYZ 17 - Drum Solo 18 - Red Lenses 19 - The Spirit Of Radio 20 - Tom Sawyer 21 - 2112: Overture / Temples Of Syrinx 22 - La Villa Strangiato 23 - In The Mood

Audience 8.6 - This very decent old tape, previously ignored by collectors, takes a minute or two to get going so don’t be disappointed just hang in there. Once it settles in, it’s a very good tape that suffers maybe from some tape noise but really what I am going to tell you is that I would listen to this again because the performance here is among the very best, most ferocious I have honestly ever heard and I have heard MANY Rush recordings. Pro 9.9 - this is unbelievably solid. Everything is in the pocket, which is awfully hard to do with a metal band. Every instrument, and the crowd mixed in to provide atmosphere. This had to be a broadcast, but it’s not from a broadcast it has to be a pre-broadcast master. I mean, it’s almost perfect. Audience 9.2 - I love how this sounds! Geddy is so clear, the sound is very comfortable to my ears and I just love how the drums and bass are distinct – especially the bass because my gosh Geddy is such a badass and so on point here. This is kind of a historic gig in as way most would not even notice. 30 years prior to this date was the last time Rush played the Allentown Fair, and they played a few songs not yet released…welp, fast forward 30 years and they do the same thing here! How cool is that? One other personal detail that struck me was how the performance took me back to around 1979, I felt the performance and atmosphere, along with how the tape itself was recorded, all for some reason made me, at times, think this sounded like the late 70's. Audience 8.7 - This is a really nice and rare treat. I have been collecting every known Toronto show by Rush and this fills a nice place in the 70’s portion…and wow man I gotta say the quality is surprising since most of the other 70’s tapes are really not that great. I am not saying this is sparkling minty fresh, but it’s much more clear and present than the others and that is good for us because this is the earliest known AFTK performance and features tracks yet to be released. Soundboard 9.3 - A pretty crisp sounding board tape, it definitely has not been gen’d down I can tell you that for sure! The band is tight man, they've always been but here they sound frighteningly precise. For me, 1994 is not that long ago in my mind – but damn it’s 29 years ago YIKES!
