• Audience 9.5 - Wonderful in every way, as good as an audience recording can be from 1975.
  • Audience 8.7 - Sound resides somewhere in the mid range and does not feature well defined high end but does have a warm, round bottom to it. The mix does not favor any one instrument, it’s rather even, and all in all the listening experience, while not exceptional in any way, is also not offensive. • Audience 8.6 - Solid, with some tape squeals here and there about halfway in that do go away. A good solid recording here.
  • Audience 9.2 - Great dynamics and amazing atmosphere! This is certainly one for every kind of collector, even casually Genesis fans would love this. A special gig. • Audience 9.5 - Listening to this recording made me think for a second I was listening to classic Gabriel era sans Peter Gabriel (he’s backstage nursing cold) ha ha!  What I mean is, the performance and setlist is reminiscent of an earlier time because the band seem to be playing the songs as if for the first time. It’s just great to hear – and the sound quality is top shelf. • Audience 9.2 - Very punchy up front, clean, sweet levels and great mix. Wonderful!
  • Soundboard 9.2 - Great if not a tad flat (as most soundboards can be)
  • Audience 8.1 - Yes this is ranked pretty low on the sound quality scale, but it’s not a disaster because this is actually a full point or more better than the previous version of this legendary gig. It’s not unlistenable, and the proof is that you can hear every word Gabriel says during his stories. Extensive work in repairing and remastering this from a 1st generation tape made all the difference. Rediscover the earliest known live Genesis recording because for historical purposes there is no more significant a recording than this. • Audience 7.0 - Thin and distant
  • Soundboard 9.2 - Good show and I love how the drums sound in this mix.
  • Soundboard 9.5 - Superb clarity and attenuation, especially where the high end is concerned. Very lifelike, no sign of radio compression which suggests this tape to be pre-FM broadcast. Genesis Hammersmith Odeon London, UK June 10, 1976 Band: Tony Banks: keyboards (pianos, synths, organ, Mellotron,) 12-string guitar, backing vocals Phil Collins: lead and backing vocals, drums, percussion Steve Hackett: lead guitars Mike Rutherford: basses, guitars, vocals Bill Bruford: drums, percussion Setlist: Disc 1 01 Dance On A Volcano 6:45 02 The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway 4:44 03 Fly On A Windshield 2:38 04 The Carpet Crawlers 6:43 05 The Cinema Show 12:30 06 Robbery, Assault And Battery 6:28 07 White Mountain 7:26 08 Firth Of Fifth 9:48 09 Entangled 6:43 10 Squonk 6:54 Runtime: 70:43 Disc 2 11 Supper's Ready Intro 1:25 12 Supper's Ready 24:37 13 I Know What I Like 7:05 14 Los Endos 6:51 15 It - Watcher Of The Skies 6:40 Runtime: 46:41 Total Runtime: 1:57:25
  • Audience 9.1 - A strong, very clear tape which has a deep bottom end, you can feel the kick and the bass!  The band sound close, there’s no indication they are playing a large venue, it’s almost kind of an intimate sound. A superb taping job! Genesis Long Beach Arena Long Beach, CA May 24, 1980 Disc 1 01 Deep In The Motherlode 02 Dancing With The Moonlit Knight 03 Squonk 04 One For The Vine 05 Story Of Albert 06 Behind The Lines 07 Duchess 08 Guide Vocal 09 Turn It On Again 10 Duke's Travels - Duke's End Disc 2 11 Say It's Alright Joe 12 The Lady Lies 13 Ripples 14 Band Introduction 15 Misunderstanding 16 In The Cage 17 Afterglow 18 Follow You, Follow Me 19 Dance On A Volcano 20 Drum Duet - Los Endos 21 I Know What I Like
  • Audience 8.9 - Very nice and clear with the keyboards more up front this time. Bass sounds sweet too. A great recording!
  • Audience 8.7 - This tape is surprisingly clear, it is not super dynamic but it is nice and clear. It’s almost like a REALLY good AM radio broadcast. It has a narrow sound field, but it is comfortable there, and comfortable to your ears. Phil sounds like he’s singing right next to you, pretty cool. • Audience 8.7 - The tape is new to circulation and it’s a good one. The rating reflects only that there is a lack of dynamics in the bandwidth of the tape but the clarity is decent and it is a comfortable listen – not harsh, not muddy, not brittle…it’s a good tape and I am glad it was discovered. Genesis Free Trade Hall Manchester, UK February 24, 1973 1. Watcher of the Skies 2. Musical Box 3. Get 'em out by Friday 4. Suppers Ready 5. Return of the Giant Hogweed 6. The Knife (encore)
  • Audience 8.3 - This recording is balancing very finely on the borderline but thankfully falls onto the “acceptable” side. I would call it slightly above average maybe, as the tape shows some typical age limitations, but still manages to present the evening in a listenable quality. Must have been a small audience at this show, crowd response is weak, but the band still perform admirably. Guzman Theatre, Miami, FL. March 9th, 1974 Disc 1

  • Soundboard 9.3 - Simply a MUST HAVE if you have any interest at all in Genesis. Includes some backstage interviews, giving an amazing perspective of this epic show. Enchanting!
  • Audience 8.6 - Right down in there with the crowd, listening to the audience listening to the band. The band and their music sound terrific, the audio quality is actually pretty darn good, bright, not distorted, maybe not as full on the bottom end but the bass itself is very round but not thumping. Drums are crisp and well defined. This is actually a good recording!
  • Audience 8.3 - Sounds kind of distant, but because it is not echoey you can adjust and then place yourself in the seat of the taper.
  • Audience 8.2 - Vocals a little buried, all music pretty clear and detailed.
  • Audience 8.7 - A surprisingly decent tape surfaces from Italy where Genesis found initial acceptance in the early part of their career. Sound is clear for the most part, and the timbre is pleasing to the ear…if I can knock it I would say maybe it is a bit compressed in the middle, so no crispness in the highs nor definition in the low end but it’s not the kind of compression that you get from, say, a video tape. It’s quite good like I said so feel secure if you get it knowing it will be worthwhile. • Audience 7.7 - A wide stereo feel, a touch of that large hall sound, pretty clear with a decent mix. Some audience chatter.
  • Audience 7.6 - Has a kind of thin quality to it even though you can hear everything on stage. Sounds like it needs a nice big punch in the middle, someone needs to remaster this one. Not crappy, just needs a mastering job.
  • Audience 8.9 - Strong stuff! A must!
  • Audience 9.1 - A beautiful recording with a terrific drum sound, and expansive, atmospheric ensemble mix of all instruments especially keyboards to pair with that drum sound. This might be one you go to frequently. • Audience 9.3 - A nicely done job this one. A warm sound, with emphasis on clear and crisp drums, bright vocals, detailed bass, and percussive keys but all in all really I find the sound mix relaxing and I sank right into this recording for the duration. You will too. • Audience 9.0 - Tape starts off funky, but quickly gets sorted and becomes quite excellent. Clear, with some nice atmosphere and decent dynamics (not overwhelming but nice). • Audience 8.5 - Starts off a little funky as the taper gets in position but slowly develops into a very good and clear recording for the duration. The audience is golden, very respectful and this makes for a better overall experience too.
  • Soundboard 9.1 - Technically sounds good, bright, crisp and all that, but I am not in love with the overall sound mix. It’s serviceable though.
