Soundboard 9.5 - Cool to hear such a nice board because quite frankly the volume and mix of most of the live recordings I have heard just have little separation of instruments and I like hearing Geezer clearly. Drums sound great on this one. It also happens to be the final show. -

Audience 8.5 - A loud and brassy sound with a little tiny amount of overload somewhere in the upper mid frequency which, if you were to choose where to have it, would be there. So, that all sounds bad, but not really…this is a very satisfying listening experience because the actual tone and ambience of this recording is amazingly realistic and gives a sense of the venue (which gives a “time-trip” feeling to it). I rather like it a lot. -

Audience 7.7 - Most of the unauthorized recordings of Uriah Heep with John Lawton as lead vocalist are only of fair audio quality. John's vocals are clear through most of the recording. The recording is a bit cut-up in places but the big upside is an unusual setlist featuring some tunes from Heep's Firefly album. Also John's bluesy vocals shine throughout. -

Audience 8.7 - A good strong sounding tape with a minimal bit of clutter somewhere in the middle frequencies that does not distract thankfully. Recorded on some good gear, you can tell. Just listen to the organ when the music stops during Gypsy and you know what I'm talking about...just ripping! -

Audience 7.9 - The only thing that stops this recording from shining bright is the low end. It’s a thunderous low end, a roaring train, but it’s probably what the gig sounded like too. So, it’s not that it’s ruined, but that you should roll off the bass a little if you have an EQ, and then you’ll have something much better to listen to. A good recording – with loads of bass! -

Audience 8.4 - Decent, maybe a little bit thin (needs more low end) but all highs are really there, so a bit of compression is not going to hurt this if someone wants to re-master it. A good one for the collection nonetheless. -

Audience 8.7 - A surprisingly good recording, honestly when I first came upon this title I thought to myself it must be crap sound ‘cause I’d never heard of it before. Not so! It’s pretty good. -
Audience 7.8 - A little bit rough but its incredible nonetheless…see, truth be told it took me 10 years to finally acquire this show. I have a special interest in it. I will say that, actual audio fidelity, while not hi-fi, is not lo-fi either – it has some power to it (without distortion!) and I LOVE the audience reactions throughout. A fiery gig! -
Soundboard 9.0 - Aside from a weird high frequency buzz that lasts for a few minutes at the beginning, and one or two minor tape faults this is a crisp, airy recording that EVERYONE is going to LOVE! Good bite on the guitar which seems to have a lot more “space” in the recording, yet maintains definition when it isn't too buried. Keyboards are really pronounced which helps this tape. Several cuts exist here and there, but it’s still a very interesting tape! -
Stage Recording 8.7 - These kind of recordings are in a unique category – they are technically “audience” type recordings but the signal is sent straight to the recording deck or into a sub-mixer under the control of an engineer. A “professional audience recording” I suppose. So, you do not always have absolute control over the sound mix but this can be a good thing if you get lucky enough with ideal mic placement and ambience, and other things like that. In this case, well, it’s a fine recording limited perhaps by the mic and tape deck quality or ability to capture in high fidelity. It’s a great reference, a decent recording, and there’s plenty of interesting stuff here to make you want to find out what Zappa does next. -
Audience 8.8 - This tape takes a minute to find a sweet spot, but when it does, it’s quite enjoyable with exceptional detail in the highs – and a good “thwacking” kick drum that anchors the whole thing. A good ‘un! -

Audience 8.6 - Talk about being in the crowd, this recording is total immersion if ever there was immersion! But, here’s the good news – it’s a BLAST! The crowd is really an integral part of this performance, the band senses they have a great audience and they really play to them. It’s rather fun and gives you a tremendous feeling of nostalgia. A great ride! -

Soundboard 8.8 - The live mix settles in during the first song and sounds pretty good, and manages to capture some of the hall atmosphere too, which is nice. -
Soundboard 9.6 - A must for every Kinks collector! The band was REALLY cooking on this tour, here’s some proof. -
Audience 7.9 - This is the complete concert from the 23rd and NOT the officially released Dec, 24th Rainbow show. The problem with it being unofficial, or course, is that it was not recorded professionally, and in this case the audio is a little on the muddy side. I don’t think it is ruined though, because it’s not “thick” mud, it’s just missing something on the high end. -
Audience 8.6 - The best part of this tape to me is the richness of the bottom end, nice and round, deep, very very nice. The rest is good too, just maybe not as articulate as the bass sound, with some audience chatter during the show, and a spacious but not reverb drenched atmosphere. One of the great ones! -
Audience 9.0 - Nicely done! A good solid punchy middle, with enough headroom to allow the guitars to soar high above the audience landing onto your ear drums in the best of ways. -
Soundboard 9.2 - A good tight mix that emphasizes the vocals and Duane which I am 100% ok with! A joy to listen to.
