• Soundboard 9.7 - This is what keeps me excited about collecting…this right here. I was not very knowledgeable of their live catalog (whatever is out there, IDK) and so I did not know what to expect with this. Man, just man, it literally BLEW me away! Just amazing in every way – and the playing, along with pristine sound quality, it’s just a no-brainer. I did not know how accomplished these guys were, the musicianship is off the charts good. Very tight, very professional, and great songs for the style they play in – they even cover Lynyrd Skynyrd as a nod to their counterparts. Good, I mean, GREAT stuff! • Audience 9.2 - A solid one, with a good timbre and pleasantly punchy in the mids, enough highs to get crispness without sizzle, and a smooth bottom end without boom or overwhelming rumble. It’s really quite excellent, with a sound leaping out of the speakers at you! • Audience 8.7 - It’s getting harder and harder to find recordings such as this. For one thing, it’s something that I never heard before, either it has been hidden in someone’s shoebox or just got overlooked but either way it’s a GREAT find and sounds real good, with plenty of atmospherics without being washed out or boomy. Great job by taper! • Audience 8.7 and 8.8 - Both of these recordings are quite good, and most welcomed. Each feature Bob Welch, although the ’72 also has Danny Kirwan still on board (but not for much longer). You can tell he is drunk, but even with all the stuff happening on stage (some clearly audible), the band still manage to put on a good show. • Audience 8.7 - A nicely atmospheric recording without reverb which is nice. Sound mix is good, you hear everyone in pretty good detail. Sounds like it might be maybe 1/3 of the way back in the hall but it’s done with good equipment seems like. Overall a good recording here. • SDBRD 9.9 - The only thing that gets this to a 10 is a better kick drum sound (extreme nitpicking here).
  • Soundboard 8.9 - Hard to find anything to complain about when it comes to listening to vintage Kiss board tapes, that is, if you are like me and grew up with Kiss.  Believe it or not, Kiss displayed very competent musicianship back in these days.
  • Audience 9.7 - One of those recordings that validate my argument that some audience tapes are superior to soundboards. Lush and warm, with great atmosphere and precision detail. Wowsers!
  • Aud 8.3 - Now Hendrix collectors all know that good quality 68 tour recordings are in short supply, so when they pop up, well it’s a no-brainer…so we have two no-brainers here for you. Both are very decent, and the Vancouver in particular is very cool in both sound and performance.
  • Aud 8.4 - Oh how I love this show!  Why?  It’s reasonably clear with only a bit of upper level distortion – but man, this just blows EVERYTHING away!  The set list for one, it’s got some little gems on it, and the playing – YUP – he’s killin’ it. What else?  Oh, a very intimate feel, just has a sort of immediate impact kind of sound. Mitch and Noel are spot on, Jimi feeds off of their energy as well as the audience. A MUST!
  • Soundboard 9.0 - Perhaps you have a Van Halen Osaka 1979 CD in your collection, please, go and check the date on it because this show is from September 11 and NOT the previous night which is an audience tape of average quality. This my friends is a fresh new transfer and re-mastering of a great sounding show! • Chicago 1975 Audience 8.7 A strong tape showcasing Tony for sure as he comes through loud and clear. Ozzy is next in the sound mix followed by somewhat indistinct bass and drums in that they are not detailed, but they are still present as the power of the band is transferred to the tape – this is not a “transistor” radio recording by any means.  Very enjoyable! Baltimore 1975 Audience 8.8 This tape is great although it is slightly subdued, but the live sound mix is extremely brutal, you really get a good feel for how powerful this band’s sound was at the time. I wish it was a little bit clearer maybe, but as this show plays you are so sucked into it you really don’t feel critical because it’s a devastating and great ’75 performance. San Bernardino 1975 Audience 9.2 A very open and bright recording that, even with some limitations of the analog tape being used, rates very high for the sheer excitement and power being displayed and thankfully captured so well. I also love the visceral audience reactions (especially when War Pigs gets going), seriously it gave me goose bumps!  Love this! • Soundboard 9.5 - Spectacular sound, ferocious performance! This is, without a doubt, one absolute must-have for anyone with even a remote interest in Judas Priest…but I’ll take it even further and say ANYONE who loves hard rock should get this one. • Audience 8.8 - Man, why do we have to wait over 35 years for a new Rush tape to surface?  Come on guys! Let’s get them out before we’re all dead!  Ha ha!  So, this is just fantastic! For one thing, it’s early Rush, just prior to the start of 2112, and there’s just not a lot out there that is listenable. This is listenable, and it ain’t perfect but it is perfect at the same time – how to explain that seemingly contradictory statement?  Collectors will understand me…it lacks some of the niceties we’ve grown accustomed to nowadays but it also delivers things we do not frequently hear on Rush audience tapes and that is a very defined, well rounded and clearly heard bass sound. Geddy is in fine form, the band means business!  Get this if you know what is good for you.
