Audience 8.8 - This is a really nice one, pretty atmospheric without being reverby and hollow and the live sound mix is pretty right-on. The sound separation here presents itself as what feels like stereo to me, whether or not taper used two mics I do not know but it does sound like it. The band is really hot!

Soundboard 9.5 - Good, airy, and dynamic tape! I also like the way this is mixed, and the playing is top shelf by anyone’s standards. The only small thing I can complain about is a little too much sizzle on the cymbals.

Audience 8.4 - Punchy in the middle, how I like it!

Audience 8.2 - Good clear sound if a little distant and thin. Small complaint though, because it is not bad at all.

Soundboard 9.9 - As good as it gets, rather .01 away from being as good as it can get.

CD 1 - Soundboard 8.6 - Sounds very low gen but the tape seems somewhat compressed, but very clean, and thankfully can be turned up loud without breaking up. CD 2 - Soundboard 8.6 - A lot like disc one, occasional phasing on one or two tracks, but again it is pretty clean and a mix that reveals how good each player is in this band. CD 3 - Soundboard 8.4 - A step down from the first couple of discs but it has a little more brightness to it, and a little more noise and a strange sort of echo on the guitar which does not bother me, it is just different than the other discs. All in all, collectors will find much to like here.

Audience 7.2–8.2 - What you get here is a very raucous sounding tape because when the band is at full volume the recorder can’t deal with it so there’s some clutter and slight high end break up, but when the band is more low key, such as a straight blues number, it’s wonderful. The music? Off the hook jamming!

Audience 7.9 - Not the best sound mix here, and it kind of blasts through your speakers, but it’s rollicking good fun mate!

Audience 7.2-7.6 - From various locations (taper tries very hard and sometimes moves equipment to a better spot, so quality varies).

Audience 8.3 - A serviceable tape that presents a very round bottom end but has a good solid middle during less frenetic jams, and in turn this also reveals great snappy highs. What I think it is, it’s a loud kick drum that intrudes during active sections, not too badly, but it does push itself too far into the mix. Still GREAT stuff and highly recommended.

Audience 9.0 - This recording has a good solid middle highlighting the musicianship of the band, possibly at the expense of Chris in the overall mix. Don’t let that stop you, by all means this is one to get.

Audience 8.6 - Sourced from a 1st gen analog tape, this sounds surprisingly good for a pre-fame grunge band with questionable live mix sound. They really never had a good live sound until they got famous, but this qualifies as one of the “must have’s” of their early career

Audience 7.7 - Bright, clear, some tape over-saturation is present but not from any low end, or even high end which is clear and intact, it’s from maybe a touch of overload due to volume and average microphone. A good tape though, even with the limitations.

Audience 7.6 - Guitar cuts through quite well on this one. DVD is pro shot from French TV 1970 and features the original band members. DVD is a real treat.
