Audience 8.4 - This is a classic example of the modern benefits of collecting music in the 21st Century: A tape that a decade ago would have been considered for completists only is now, after careful re-mastering. a worthwhile listen. In comparing the original version, I find this one raises the rating a full half point at least. Behold, there is music here! ELP Palazzo Dello Sport Genova, Italy June 15, 1972 Disc 1 1. Tarkus 2. Soundboard 9.5 - Pinpoint precision, that is how I describe this one. The band, the songs, the mix, the tone…so what I am saying is “it’s a good one”. Pine Knob, MI. July 26, 1978 Disc 1- Song For America

Soundboard 8.8 - This is perhaps one of the most famous and well travelled live recordings of the legendary Ozzy/Randy team. It is indeed a board tape, not exactly pristine, but certainly something everyone remotely interested in this band should have in their collection. Ozzy Osbourne 1982-02-09 Wings Stadium Kalamazoo, MI 01 Diary Of A Madman 02 Over The Mountain 03 Mr. Crowley 04 Crazy Train 05 Revelation (Mother Earth) 06 Steal Away (The Night) 07 Suicide Solution 08 Guitar Solo 09 Drum Solo 10 Goodbye To Romance 11 I Don't Know 12 No Bones Movies 13 Believer 14 Flying High Again 15 Iron Man 16 Children Of The Grave 17 Paranoid -
Soundboard 9.1 -Always nice to hear these 1980 shows in this quality. There is something I really like about the later era Zep – a maturity maybe? I don’t know but I think the band really smokes here. Soundboard 9.6 - Mixed for a possible live album, these recordings really sparkle and show off the unbridled power of this band on stage. I have to consider this stuff to be essential for ANY collection, not just Mountain/Leslie West fans. Mountain - Live At The Fillmore East Recorded on December 30 & 31, 1970 & January 1, 1971 CD1: 1. This is the CD only follow up release to the first album by Hooker. These tracks were culled from the bands personal archives and were transferred from the original reels. The time frame spans a period of several years, from around 1978 to approx. 1986. Some of the tracks do feature on the first album, but are going to be alternate versions, mixes, etc. There are also a few live tracks, we concluded those would have been from around 1974 making them some of the oldest surviving recordings of the band. -
Audience 8.7 - A rip-roaring blast of a tape! First thing you are going to think after maybe 1 minute is how dejected Montrose and Journey must have been after following the ascending Van Halen. Man, I felt bad for them and this show happened decades ago! It’s just the sonic equivalent of a shooting star, Eddie is blistering and hits every note with perfection, the bass is detailed and not just a booming thud, drums are OK and DLR is a little behind the band but who cares? The taper did a fine job, some minor hiccups every now and then but thankfully very few to deal with and they don’t last long. I am liking this show and the tape is just fine for its age. A keeper! Van Halen Tower Theater Upper Darby, Pennsylvania March 24, 1978 1. On Fire 2. I’m The One 3. Bass Solo 4. Runnin’ With The Devil 5. Atomic Punk 6. Drum Solo/Little Dreamer 7. Radio Broadcast & Audience 8.8/8.5 - The radio material sounds its age but is a fine document in good enough shape to give you a deeper appreciation for this hugely influential band. The audience material is from a small club, and therefore does not suffer stadium sound problems meaning you can hear everyone pretty solid especially the guitar which is great. I am happy to be able to hear these recordings knowing a little background on the band and how they forged their own path in the music industry. A bit of ancient historical importance on the 1974 show, Judas Priest opened and come on at the end to jam with Budgie making it the first recorded appearance of Judas Priest on tape! Audience 8.8 - Very clear and with enough dynamics present to really provide an authentic experience of virtually being there. These kinds of recordings, while technically not considered as excellent (unfairly) due to the measurable fidelity of the audio (in the objective sense) are actually excellent in their own right. This is a well done recording, with the sound “floating” above you and giving you a sense of time and place, of literally being there. Soundboard 9.2 - A warm sounding tape, very punchy where it needs to be, maybe if I can complain about anything it would be in the relative sterility of it but that’s a soundboard’s Achilles heel isn’t it ? I’d recommend this to anyone, it is what we like to call “a keeper” for sure! Audience 9.0 - A sweet, warm, and spacious (mostly) recording that came out of nowhere. First of all, it’s already a rarity to find a tape of Rush from the UK, second, it’s a great vintage. The show? Awesome! This is, quite simply, a must have. Audience 9.1 - A really fine recording and a great show this is! Some minor limitations present during very heavy passages where the equipment fails to maintain the clarity we get used to during most of this show – but it’s not a deal-breaker at all because the recording remains powerful without distorting which is critical to the success of the tapers’ efforts here. You might lose a touch of vocals and some clarity (a little bit) but that will not detract from the pleasure you will get from this show. Audience 8.9 - Very lively, great atmosphere! Sound is very very good, and the mix that gets to your ears includes everything happening on stage but what I really love is the sound of the drums. Fills the arena yet is pretty tight, with that slight bouncing off the walls effect that gives an almost 360 degree experience. Audience 8.8 - Most likely master tape source here, there’s no tape noise it is super clear. More emphasis on the upper mid and highs, but it’s not shrill or anything like that. Soundboard 9.8 - You can’t do much better than these, mainly because the board tape itself is full of life and expertly mixed in contrast to other more sterile boards. Audience 8.7 - A good strong sounding tape with a minimal bit of clutter somewhere in the middle frequencies that does not distract thankfully. Recorded on some good gear, you can tell. Just listen to the organ when the music stops during Gypsy and you know what I'm talking about...just ripping!
