• Soundboard 9.6 - Just like their masterpiece album “ys”, this recording has a sinister, haunting kind of vibe. They pretty much do the entire album, with a couple of non-LP songs included as well (and both are good). Il Balleto Di Bronzo Nearfest 2000 Zoellner Arts Center Bethlehem, PA. • Paris 1971 Soundboard 9.6 - Excellent, well balanced mix seemingly made for some kind of professional use but if it was for broadcast than this is certainly a pre-broadcast master source. Frankfurt 1972 Audience 8.8 - A really good tape here, it seems it would have to have been on a reel to reel because it’s too good to be a portable unit with a cheap inboard mic. • Audience 9.2 - This recording has a special quality to it, it’s not that it’s technically great – the instrument separation isn’t very good but the band does project well – the thing about this tape is it feels like you are sitting just above the audience, in the middle of the room, and you hear the space around you, you have a great sense of where you are and it’s weird but you can visualize this show. I give it a high rating because this recording captures the “essence” of this moment in time in an accurate manner that allows the listener to be transported. • Audience 8.2 - A good recording that gives you the whole show in clear, decent quality with maybe the only real flaw being a sort of pushed back guitar but it is there and you can get just about everything in the mix. Enjoyable!
  • Audience 8.7 - Small club atmosphere but big sound and a taper who thankfully was there to capture it all for posterity…and he did a great job of it. • Soundboard 8.8 - A slightly aged sounding tape that received a much needed EQ and level boost recently that lifted it a full point higher ratings-wise. If you like Chicago you should like this band too.
  • Audience 7.0 - Perhaps the only known live recording of this band. Well worth having!
  • Audience 8.7 - This recording is better than it has a right to be, after all it is in a big stadium, early 70’s so the gear, if it doesn’t weigh 80 pounds, has to be cheap crap…but, dang it this sounds cool!  Granted, instrument separation isn’t great (it is good enough), and it isn’t super close up, but all that still does not detract from how stompin’ this is. • Audience 8.4 - Technically speaking, there would be people that would argue with this rating but you have to account for ENERGY and VIBE and this recording bristles with swagger, sweat, and INTENSITY.
  • Audience 7.5 - Not especially great, however if you are collecting you may want to snag this if you don’t have it yet. You do hear the music, it’s not a hot mess, it’s just simply an average sounding audience show.
  • Audience 8.8 - A tape that sounds like it has been extensively worked on to try to bring out the tones and reduce noise. It’s a very old recording that has been preserved as well as could be expected although I feel like it has more life in it. Either way, it’s clean enough, in almost a soundboard way as you don’t hear any atmosphere except between songs where, quite honestly, it sounds like there’s nobody in the “crowd”.  Strange. • This is the CD only follow up release to the first album by Hooker. These tracks were culled from the bands personal archives and were transferred from the original reels. The time frame spans a period of several years, from around 1978 to approx. 1986. Some of the tracks do feature on the first album, but are going to be alternate versions, mixes, etc. There are also a few live tracks, we concluded those would have been from around 1974 making them some of the oldest surviving recordings of the band.
  • Issued by Rockadrome Vintage under license from ShroomAngel Records, this CD version of Hooker's previously unreleased 1978 LP also features bonus tracks. Brand New and SEALED.
  • Released on vinyl, this features excellent multi-layered guitar, ripping bass and drum work, and Ian Gillan inspired vocals with dark, haunting, somewhat blues-tinged hard rock songs. Recorded in Rosenberg, TX. only a single 45 rpm was released, but the tracks on the 7" were from a previous demo recording done in 1974. This and much more is featured on the CD version, where you can hear for yourself why the world should have heard of the name Ottis Coleman, but hopefully now they will get the chance. For fans of Trapeze, Deep Purple.
  • Heyoka - The Spirit of Revelation 2-LP. Gatefold cover colored vinyl limited edition double album filled with incredible late 70s progressive hard rock from this unheralded Texas group. Mention the name Heyoka to any self respecting rock music aficionado in the state of Texas and chances are they remember this legendary 70s hard rock band. Without a doubt this band was one of the greatest unsigned bands ever to originate from Texas. Opening for every major touring act that passed through San Antonio, including Rush’s first tour of America, this band even had a song featured on MTV in the early 80’s, before it got unceremoniously banned. They featured two guitarists, a singer that played flute, keyboards, and a crack rhythm section. The music is reminiscent of Jethro Tull and Kansas, but retaining a unique quality all its own that will take the listener on a musical journey evoking Native American imagery under the mystical guide of Black Elk. All tracks recorded between the years 1977 and 1986, almost all previously unissued.  For those into classic era Rush, Kansas, Jethro Tull, Thin Lizzy and the like. An absolute must-have release! This double album collection features bonus tracks not found on the CD version! Also comes with a 12 x 24 color poster! • Soundboard 8.8 - This tape shows some signs of age but it is holding its own and is strong in many aspects. The only thing that prevents the higher rating is that there is some “dirt” present, what I mean is just some extracurricular noise present in the mid band, nothing that destroys any enjoyment at all – it is a strong tape as I said, but for a soundboard you expect purity and this one is not pure. Still, I think the setlist answers the question “should I”?  Yes. You should. This is a kick ass show and the Zeppelin covers just put it over the top. Heart Waukegan, IL. • Soundboard 9.7 - Hard to get much better than this one!
  • Soundboard 8.8 - The band was recording this show, possibly for a live album. Contrary to what you might think of 80’s Heart, there is no wimp out here, they kick major ass!
  • Soundboard 9.6 - Another stellar board with the best kick drum sound ever. Right smack dab in the pocket, and it helps to propel the songs “straight on you” as it were.
  • Pro recording 8.8 - A Tape in desperate need of a remastering. Has everything it needs to be amazing. Right now, it is very good, but take the noise out, boost the right frequencies and you will have something MUCH better.
  • Audience 8.4 - There’s some obvious flaws in this tape, what sounds like a rather highly compressed sound, but I have to say if you give it a complete listen you will fall in love with it. Case in point – not to be a spoiler, but while playing Magic Man they riff on some classic Yardbirds and it just makes it for me. Just a little riff is all it took for me. I love this show! An absolutely devastating performance you won’t forget about.
  • Soundboard 9.7 - Great stuff!
  • Milwaukee 1980 FM Broadcast 8.7 - This was broadcast, the question is, was it recorded professionally and did it sound like this when it was aired?  Probably it did not sound like this – because this is below the threshold for what is acceptable for a legitimately broadcast live performance which means it is probably an off-air tape that has suffered from degradation. That being said, it’s been re-mastered and it sounds decent enough to be included in a set which features all soundboards so that says something for it. Vancouver 1981 FM Broadcast 8.8 - This is another one of those not quite living up to radio broadcast expectations probably due to a capture off the air onto cassette tape, regardless it still sounds fine just a bit dated. A re-mastering helped considerably and that is why the show is included in this set. Dortmund 1982 Soundboard 9.1 - Sounds like a large, open air stadium and that atmosphere is preserved onto the tape. A really decent one for the collectors out there. Daytona 1984 Soundboard 9.2 - Wow, the 80’s, and the unique obsession with that (now very dated) certain drum sound that can take any song and make it “new wave” ha ha!  Thankfully it’s not the case on every song otherwise I would have said skip this show, but it’s a good, well recorded one so enjoy it. Raleigh 1985 Soundboard 9.4 - Good hard panning of the guitars so that you can distinctly hear each of them as autonomous instruments. A hard rocking sound was mixed on this evening.
