  • Audience 8.7 - A show I remember listening to as a teenager having bought the 3LP bootleg which was referred to as Offenbach. This sounds pretty close to that boot, maybe a touch better coming from a tape source, which means it’s pretty decent. • Soundboard 9.5 - A great recording, with an occasional stumble caused by the soundman trying to balance things and tweaking a mic too much getting feedback but thankfully only here and there. Gordon gets a little annoyed at it too, but he’s a real pro and it shows. I get the feeling that although some of his music may have been familiar to some in the audience, he probably did not relate so much to the hippy generation. • Soundboard 9.3 - For my first exposure to a live Buzzcocks show, this was a splendid one!  The recording captures the energy and the excellent, gritty, and I would even say cocky guitar tone. • Soundboard 9.8 - What makes this recording rate so highly is the professionalism all around – that means the band first for putting in the sparkling performance (and that’s even more succinct here with the unusual line-up and changing sound of Tull), and then the sound engineer for so deftly mixing and preserving this recording. I mean, it’s not just a board tape where you pop in the cassette and capture whatever sound you’ve dialed in for the evening, this is a well manicured mix that seemingly must have been made with a view towards a release because it is just too good, too perfectly balanced to be just a house mix. • Studio Quality 9.3 - This seems to be a real early example of the Steve Perry era and as such presents an interesting snapshot of the band in transition…yet still retains most of their fiery 70’s guitar-centric jamming quality. • Soundboard 9.3 - Very smooth, dynamic, elegant sounding tape here. • Audience 8.7 - Here is the big question: Was this broadcast over the air?  If it was, I’d find it odd that they recorded the show from the audience, I mean, in bootleg fashion as it sounds like a bona fide audience bootleg tape!   It’s decent enough though, taken from what seems like the back of the room so it gets the full PA sound projecting out, including audience reaction, so it is somewhat immersive. You definitely get a sense of the room that’s for sure. I think this recording is a raucous good time if nothing else and shows the band very comfortable with the music and their place in rock and roll.
