• Radio Broadcast 9.4 - Perhaps one of the best live documents in existence, even if there are marginally better sounding shows out there (although this one is killer), this tops it for exuberance and swagger. • Audience 8.7 - A little subdued maybe, but all the instrumentation is clearly heard, and dynamically it resides in the middle band frequencies and has a decent bass response but at the expense of maybe guitars which seem to sit just behind the bass. Considering the gig (inside a prison) I have to say it's a very good job, and worthy of a spin. ULI JON ROTH Klingelpuetz Prison Cologne, Germany 1979-10-03 2nd Show 01. Sundown 02. Earthquake 03. • Montreal - Audience 8.7 - You can tell the tapers gear was of good quality, the capture is actually very clear but in capturing the actual sound at the show you gotta accept whatever is coming out of the PA system, and however the sound guy has mixed it. That being said, I can tolerate this one much more than 90% of all the other Metallica audience tapes which suffer greatly from sheer volume overload most of the time. Missouri - Soundboard 9.1 - Great drums sound believe it or not, and both guitars are distinguishable from one another which makes it very well worth hearing. These two guys can really play, maybe not quite Dave Mustaine level (ok so I am partial to Megadeth) but they can do what they do in very convincing fashion especially when you can actually hear it. • Illinois 2002 - Audience 9.5 - Superb recording considering how hard it is to properly capture live heavy metal. Normally what you get, even if on good gear, is a well captured loud sound without much separation of instruments...but here you can really wrap your ears around it all pretty distinctly. Columbus 1990 - Audience 9.0 - This is a good recording with a little less fullness and bottom end definition compared to the Illinois set. Still, it's really well done and can benefit from your own "seasoning" so to speak. TROUBLE Penny Road Pub South Barrington, Illinois 2002-05-18 DISC 1 1. Introduction - R.I.P. 2. • Soundboard 9.2 - In this mix, vocals are front and center, followed next by drums (cool) and guitars which sound just evil AF. This is surely one all fans will slay for (see what I did there?). Slayer Elkerlyck Luttenburg, The Netherlands 2nd June 1985 01 - Hell Awaits 02 - Aggressive Perfector 03 - Captor Of Sin 04 - Fight 'Til Death 05 - Kill Again 06 - Haunting The Chapel 07 - Necrophiliac 08 - Black Magic 09 - Die By The Sword 10 - Praise Of Death 11 - The Final Command 12 - Hardening Of The Arteries 13 - At Dawn They Sleep 14 - Show No Mercy 15 - Evil Has No Boundaries 16 - Chemical Warfare 17 - The Antichrist
  • Soundboard 8.9 - Man, this is just amazing. It sounds a little dated, maybe a little faded, but definitely NOT jaded! The live sound mix isn't perfect here, I think guitars should be louder (but at least in this board I can hear every note of the bass) but in defense of the guitars I can hear both of them somewhat distinctly. Vocals do suffer, they are pushed well back of the mix, at times they get closer to the right spot, but it's all good they are there but just not at the center of the mix. I think this is classic stuff. Slayer Country Club Reseda, LA, CA. September 7th 1985 Hell Awaits Tour 1. Hell Awaits 2. Aggressive Perfector 3. Captor Of Sin 4. The Final Command 5. • Soundboard 8.8 - A strong and clear tape with a mix that heavily favors drums and bass. That gives it a massive, sledgehammer to the skull sound - which can't be bad.

  • Audience 8.7 - This is a really good, but flawed, recording. The good points are that it is clear, and has unmistakable stereo panning, and a LOT of good live atmosphere (not the obnoxious audience kind of atmosphere!). The flaws are that taper is working hard (to his credit) to get into a sweet spot and while doing this the signal to his deck fades in and out slightly - the effect is one of phasing, so it's not a deal-breaker flaw it's just you have to accept that vocals and what not at times sound really far back and then sound much closer...at various points during the show (I should say guitar does this too, maybe less often). The reason why you'll stick it out is because when it is good...it's great. • Brand New - A collection of Quorthon and Bathory rare tracks, most of them unreleased. It also includes half a dozen cover tunes, from The Beatles to Sext Pistols or Motorhead, recorded by Quorthon though his career. A CD for true Bathory aficionados.
  • Brand New - Twisted Sister live album… Yeah right! … Twisted Sister live in Japan at their peak in 1985, that’s the real deal, that’s what really metter! What a great show! From now on you can’t consider yourself a SMF if you don’t have this show.
  • Brand New - Recorded Live At M3 Rock Festival in 2012. The live album that was missing! Ratt live during “Infestation” era delivering an amazing show full of classic tunes with Warren Dimartini and Carlos Cavazo delivering a great guitar work along with a tight rhythmic section with Crucier and Blotzer together fronted by Stephen Percy still singing great. One of the last opportunity to listen to all this guys together on stage.
  • Brand New - This recording of Anvil's set from the 2nd Classic Metal Fest at Phantasy Nite Club, Cleveland, Ohio, USA on 12th July 2002 was professionally made for a prospective live album which never came to fruition. The whole set was then mixed & produced by Joe Kleon at G4orce Studios. Until today the idea of a live album remained shelved.
  • Brand New - The Final days with Bruce! A show that sums up the Iron Maiden’s repertoire from 1980 to 1993! Great sound, great performance, great track list… a very good alternative to the subpar official releases of the same era.
  • Brand New - Iron Maiden braving new world! In 1995 Steve Harris and company played 3 shown in Israel. One of them was broadcasted. This is by far the best recorded show from the Blaze Bailey era.
  • Brand New - This is the best sounding Soundboard Recording of “headless Tour” for sure! And also an hard one to find! Blackie and Johnny are taking turns singing their asses off and that comes through crisp and clear on this soundboard recording.
  • Brand New - Alice Cooper Live 1987! Remember that mythical “The Nightmare Returns Tour”? Yup! The one with Kane Roberts and that great track list! Part from the video “The Nightmare Returns this is the only Live show properly recorded from that tour. Here we have the pre-FM master with a superb sound (better than the video!) and a stunning performance!
  • Brand New - Def Leppard played a "Slang tour" show in Johannesburg, South Africa on 5th December 1996. 13 songs from the show were recorded for broadcast. The band played in front of 37,500 ecstatic and very loud fans. This was the first of three stadium shows played on the mini tour of the country.
  • Brand New - Agent Orange! What can be more raw and in your face then a soundboard recording of Sodom in 1989?! All the band’s classic songs of the 80’s are there! Looking for real Teutonic terror?! You found it!
  • Radio Broadcast 9.1 - A great document! Sounds fine, a touch of hiss but it is amazing how good this sounds for its age - I have heard recent radio broadcasts that sound worse. • Audience 9.8 - Punchy and clean, with deep bass tone and sweet nektar-like guitar that excites the senses. Vocals are spot on, the ensemble playing is off-the-chain. Once you start listening to this set you will likely be captivated and locked in for the duration.

  • Werchter - Audience 8.8 - A definite party-vibe this night in Belgium, the band is hot and the sound is pumping (great low end). Brussels - Audience 8.9 - Very similar to the Werchter tape with maybe more audience participation. The main difference to my ears is the guitar, where it sits in the mix, it is a tad better, brighter, more forward in this recordings. The low end here is a little tighter too.

  • Audience 9.3 - This recording has a great feel and ambience to it - a thwack of the kick drum like you are there, but good separation of instruments that let's the guitar and vocals ride nicely in their own space above the bottom end. • Audience 8.8 - I am SO relieved that the sound quality here is good, because for me I do not really collect Tom Petty recordings, I mean I like him fine but I just had way to much other stuff I needed to listen to...BUT if you pointed me to something different, I suppose I would take you up on it and so that is what this is. I must say, it's really interesting! Quality-wise it's really fine, and very immersive (yes, you know you are rubbing shoulders with a boatload of people) but I find it wasn't off-putting at all. Now for the great news! The parts with Stevie Nicks are as great as you would have hoped them to be. Yes!!! The fact is, when you get a recording this good, when you can hear everything clearly, you better understand the genius that is Dave Mustaine. Let's face it - the guy is just gifted.
