• Audience 9.0 - Tremendous atmosphere gives you a crystal clear impression of what this gig was like, and it is very clean sounding like a master source was used. Fantastic experience with the only minor complaint being that there are two songs missing…it happens.
  • Audience 9.1 - Excellent stuff, because you get a clean, well balanced capture with all the best elements of a live atmosphere.  Two songs ran into some problems, like a muffled sound, where maybe the taper had to hide the mic, but it recovers. Very enjoyable! • Audience 8.6 - This tape does not offer a wide dynamic range, but neither is it compressed sounding, so it’s not awful on the ears. The good thing about capturing a band like Genesis during live performances is that the PA and mix is usually good, and not a distorted metal mess, so even average gear can produce reasonably good results. • Audience 9.4 - A tape that is almost TOO good…and by that I mean it has captured with sonic clarity the exact sound coming from the P.A. – which in this case was a P.A. that had some really pumping upper mid’s and high range frequencies!  No wonder people often leave home from a concert with a ringing in their ears…for weeks!  This show would have had me moving farther back to be honest. That being said it is just my own preference for sound – but the casual listener will find this recording damagingly good. • Audience 8.9 - A very fine recording probably made with some excellent gear for the time. So, sit back and enjoy the show!
  • Audience 8.7 - This is a very strong, clear tape that captures almost too much atmosphere (crowd) and leans towards the upper-mid band frequencies a little much. That being said, I still recommend this one because the sound is good enough to be very responsive to EQ, so if you season it to taste you will end up with a very nice experience. • Audience 9.4 - Superb capture! There’s nothing I would change about this tape, it’s got a wonderful electric vibe and strong depth that leaves you wanting more. A great testament to the song craft of Gary Wright. • Pro recording 9.5 - Sizzling hot everything is expertly mixed!
  • Soundboard 8.8 - This is a soundboard that is not without flaws, not serious flaws, but indeed somewhat noticeable ones. So, it’s one of those mixes where guitar sounds at times amazing, up front, and gloriously loud…and at others it seems like it was ran through an on-board processor of some kind and ends up more compressed and lower in the mix. Rock The Nation is cut at the tail end of Ronnie’s solo, and the drum intro for I Got The Fire begins, so that was a little bit of a jarring edit that could have been smoother. Overall this is a tape, and show, that will sit nicely in the collection seeing as how there are so few Gamma sdbrds, or live tapes at all.

  • Soundboard 9.7 - A deft touch is what it took to make such a pleasant mix. Everything is where it should be, and the overall sound is something you might find on officially released records. Top shelf.
  • Audience 7.8 and Audience 6.9 - The second gig is for historical reference as the sound is not great.
  • Audience 8.6 - A great job by taper to get center mic placement and not too distant from the stage. Good presence, good atmosphere, good tight show.
  • Bracknell - Audience 8.8 - A touch of tape saturation but it’s so clear and loud and energetic you won’t hardly notice. Excellent! ~ Coatham - Audience 8.7 ~ Tampa - Soundboard 8.9
  • CD 1 - FM Radio Broadcast 8.8 - A bit of tape hiss is present but this is a great great show! Lovely performance and decent sound. CD 2 - Audience 7.9 - A tape that went from a dismal 7.2 rating to a very decent 7.9 thanks to some painstaking mastering and restoration work. It was unbelievably hissy but that was mostly removed without sacrificing anything. Comparison was made and the results speak for themselves.
  • Audience 9.1 - I am always surprised when I hear such good recordings from this time period and then I remember that mics and P.A.’s and acoustics were all relative to the capture in that if the combinations were good, the result would also be good. This recording presents excellent separation of instruments with great live sound mix of the instruments, so much so that Free convinces you they could have soldiered on as a stadium act rather than dismantle and reform as Bad Company. Either way, I’ll enjoy what we have left of this venerable band in the form of live tapes like this. • Audience 8.4 - This is a great remaster here, this is a full point and a half better than you’ve heard before.
  • Audience 8.3 - This is your standard “decent” sounding 70’s audience tape. It does not offer a wide dynamic range, although it is pretty clear and you hear every instrument and vocals above all of it  in good clarity (important when it comes to Free where vocals are a huge component). Nothing about this tape offends the ears sonically speaking. It could be argued by this time Free was sounding maybe a little tired, but that is subjective. • Audience 8.6 - A very clear, surprisingly so, open air recording made with what sounds like really decent gear. Every now and then the volume fluctuates but it sounds to me like they are fiddling with the levels, it usually gets back up to proper levels after a second or two and it’s not on every song.
  • Audience 9.0 - Rated very high for the excellent mid range punch where the guitar tone is magical.
  • Audience 9.0 and Audience 8.6 - The Fillmore West show is a revelation. This has been floating around mislabeled as Winterland 69, and in horrible quality. This is the actual venue, and comes from the original master and sounds incredible! The Boston show is also real nice sounding, with an immediate sound, with some minor tape artifacts present. A great two-fer here, vintage ’69. Free never sounded so good!
  • BBC Sessions...As expected, excellent pro sound!

  • Audience 8.9 - A sort of mid-rangey tape without any kind of high end to speak of but because it is clean and warm, it is perfect to season to taste. It’s a recording that begs for personalization, because it is actually quite good, and could benefit from just minor EQ here and there. I like this one!
  • Soundboard 9.4 - Crisp, with incredible detail on drums, A very tight punchy sound that is quite exhilarating. Wonderful!
  • Audience 8.8 - A good, strong, very clear recording with accompanying audience members who are REALLY getting into it. I found it fun, not annoying at all, because mostly they are quiet while the music plays. The music is great too, and strong performances by everyone. • Audience 9.5 - Easily one of the best, if not the best, audience recording of the US leg of the 1988 Tour. If you have to pick one, I would always point to this one for that reason but also because it is a great show and features a special guest or two (Adam West and son Dweezil), but I don’t want to spoil the surprise. • Soundboard 9.2 - Clear sound and great mix and very worth having.
  • Soundboard 9.5 - 4 Disc Set, 2 Shows (Early and Late show) It doesn't get better than this one  (in my top 10)  Killer! Also listed both shows (individually) under "Upper Darby" 1980.
  • Soundboard 9.3 - The venue is unknown as is the exact date, but here’s what we do know – the show smokes! It captures the imagination, and is what I love about collecting. Do you remember what you were doing in May of 1973? I am sure the band played this gig and quickly forgot about it as they traveled to the next town, but it never ceases to amaze me how here they are in some college town probably, completely engaged and engulfed on this tour, yet manage to produce exemplary performances over and over again like it’s no big deal. Then, move on to whatever is next…it’s almost a little melancholy.
  • Soundboard 9.4 - (with portions filled in with Audience 8.7) Most is Soundboard of excellent quality, including the mix, and with some great crowd response. Band is in high spirits, a great show!
