Audience 8.1 - I would call this a fine recording, it captures every performer on stage as it happened, although not in the clearest fidelity, but you can really still enjoy this because it is not the kind of problem that distracts. It’s a good, not great, recording. -
Soundboard 8.9 - Gritty tone, I like this grungy guitar sound. Pretty good stuff. -
Soundboard 9.3 - Wonderful guitar tone is the highlight here, the magical guitar interplay throughout. Seriously, it’s as if Lou’s delivery is just a setup for the band to do their thing. One of the best I have heard, right here. -
Soundboard 9.2 - Again we find Lou and company blazing his way across Europe and leaning on some old, and some new…but mostly older tunes which always work well because there is so much room for the band to stretch out. Audience 8,7 - A distant recording with that unmistakable large stadium natural reverb that makes you sort of imagine where you are as you listen and squint your eyes to see what Lou Reed is doing on stage. The good news is that everything pretty much is audible, and reasonably clear too. The recording does lack some low end, but is not overly tinny, and drums/vocals are favored in the mix with guitars sort of chiming in just behind. If this wasn’t a clean/clear recording I would say there’s not much use for it but it has redeeming qualities and some charming renditions of some of his most beloved tunes.

Amsterdam 1973 Soundboard 8.9 - Nice to have good, clean board tapes of this line up. I think this is his best band, and I think he sounds terrific here. FM Broadcast 8.9 - A decent tape that seems a gen or two down but it has a pleasant warmth and is pretty clean otherwise. I am reminded of the amazing dexterity and feel that Lowell George displays especially when it comes to his slide work…impeccable!

Pro Pre-Broadcast Master FM 9.7. It’s hard not to be drawn in to this performance; actually it’s Linda who does all the heart stealing here. Wow, I’d consider collecting all of the live shows at this point because I never knew how much genuine charm and warmth this lady had, and transferred to audiences effortlessly. Oh, and the songs are good too! -

Audience 9.0 - A very good recording, maybe a little “soft” but that is the house I think, bass is the predominant player, guitar is not as far up in the mix as one would prefer but it’s decent and all notes are audible. The drums are nice here, and the atmosphere is not pronounced but is present to some degree. It has the sense of just being a smaller venue, which it is, and so you sense that as you listen. Good players are joined up with Lenny, guys with plenty of jazz pedigree. Aud 8.3 - A legendary gig, mainly because of the covers they play for the encore. The tape has a rough beginning but eventually evens out to reveal a surprisingly powerful capture. Most collectors consider this one a must have and from what I understand this source comes from a master tape. -
