  • Professional recording only available as a digital download. It's too good to remain vapor ware. A lot of effort and care has been taken to represent this release as close to an official capacity as possible. So, if you love complex, ELP inspired prog with vintage sounding instruments (think Anglagard, ELP, Porcupine Tree). than get this because this Russian band really delivers the goods. • Audience 8.3 - not a good sounding tape, but it gives you enough guitar and vocals too actually keep listening, and you'll actually be glad you stuck with it because here's one thing I get from this: A totally uncirculated tape that shows Led Zeppelin absolutely crushing it, in fact so much so that I really wish this was professionally recorded and released legit because it's a much better show than Long Beach. Most songs are incomplete, audio comes and goes - actually occasionally getting pretty good, but it's hit or miss all the way. I think any Zep collector is going to appreciate this performance for sure - really amazing and for that I think you have to give this a listen. • Cleveland 1978 SDBRD 9.7 - Great sound! Perfectly mixed, good live atmosphere (even though it is a board tape, the microphones do pick up the ambience). Cleveland 1980 SDBRD 9.3 - A very bright (almost too bright) recording, and it would have been a tragedy if this did not have anything else going but it does - it's got good guts, and yes even low end although it could use a touch more beefiness. Still, this is one hot sounding show, sure to please even the most jaded collector.

  • Audience 8.9 - Excellent quality, I did find it worthwhile in almost every regard but keep in mind it is a large venue so it is not a close, tight, and super dynamic recording. It is, however, clear and well done, and overall the sound is picked up well from the main P.A. system, it has force, it has clarity, it has a good "live" quality to it with all the atmosphere of being there. • Audience 9.3 - I love this recording, probably a lot more than a soundboard. This is the one your ears have been waiting for. Good separation between bass and guitar so that each is distinct, plenty of bottom end but it isn't at the expense of anything else in the mix - it's perfect. I love the bass definition too, and Ian sounds good. Sometimes I think this may be pro, but for the drums which, while excellent, have the slightest touch of sizzle on the cymbals (and by extension you get a touch of it every now and then on vocals) but it's minor and it probably would not be present on a pro recording. This is really just quibbling, trying to find flaws, the recording is BADASS! Black Sabbath Quebec City Coliseum Quebec, Canada 1983-10-20 Disc 1 101. Supertzar 102. Children Of The Grave 103. • Newcastle Audience 8.7 - A fairly bombastic recording that insists you pay attention to it. Thundering, massive, and thankfully listenable. It's not winning any awards for clarity, but it makes up for a lot of that with a representative recording of what you probably heard from the front row at this show. That leads me to say that while you would think there should be distortion, you can't really tell, but yes there just a bit of saturation deep in the bowels somewhere but I don't find it disturbing because it's low enough that you don't focus too much there. London Audience 8.6 - Dropping down one notch here, but there actually might be more mid-upper mid clarity with this recording. I think overall, this recording is a little less forceful, and there is no distortion at all on this. My ears rate this slightly below the Newcastle not because it is inferior quality, but because it is not quite as ballsy, and the trade-off is you have to give up a but of the balls in order to achieve more clarity, but sometimes ballsy is not a bad thing if it isn't too muddy. • Audience 9.3 - Excellent quality, in fact I think this is a professional recording done on or very close to the stage. It has certain tell-tale qualities, like there being minimal audience noise and very clear, well-balanced band. Good mix here, even without Duane present I think most listeners will find this most welcome especially considering two songs are played featuring Johnny Winter.   THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND Hollywood Bowl Hollywood, CA August 6, 1972 1. Very clear, pretty close, respectful audience, good acoustics, great instrument separation...it's all here for your ears to feast upon. 1972 - Pro SDBRD 9.7 - Amazing of course, it's a professional recording that was released on video but I think this is not taken from a video source as it is totally uncompressed. 1973 - Audience 9.0 - A choice recording as it has a really driving energy. This is not one of those Traffic shows that gets bogged down, it's high energy, loud, and thankfully captured very nicely.

  • Audience 8.7 - A somewhat crude tape that manages to still present some meat you can savor. The slightly overloaded tape can still allow everything to be heard although drums are not very distinct (cymbal washes do clear the mix because they sit in the high band range) and neither are the vocals - but here's the saving grace: The guitar is present and accounted for and you really NEED that with this band because this guy is phenomenal. • New York - Audience 8.8 - This is a good tape for the vintage, even if the tapers are sometimes talkative they are at least not shouters and nor are those around them. San Bernadino - Audience 9.2 - A surprisingly clear tape, you can tell right away it is a master tape source. The quality of this capture is appreciated very much, it really gives one a sense of what was beginning to happen in the States for Yes. I sometimes just can't believe there was a time when this kind of adventurous, demanding music was so well received and consumed by the American public. • Audience 8.8 - This is a very good audience tape. It is very clear, with great separation of instruments. It is not terribly dynamic though, but it's also not sluggish there either - it sort of sits in the midrange of things but in a way that is not too bad on the ears. I enjoyed this performance, I liked the atmosphere of the gig, and the respectful audience. • Soundboard 9.0 - A VERY animated and live sounding recording. There is nothing sterile about this! It bristles with electric mayhem and tension, sometimes it goes a little over the edge (takes a minute for the mix to even out a little bit - and it seems to lean slightly onto upper mid/high end leaves some of the balls of the bass out, but there's enough meat here to add some bass and I think once you do that you'll have a real banger with this one. It's already great, but I'd certainly season it to taste. • Audience 8.7 - A large sound, complete with the bassy, big stadium boominess that telegraphs the volume and power of live Dio. Does that mean it is a muddy mess? No, it's not bad...it's just that your ears will hear this recording probably exactly how they would have heard it at the show. It's a well known fact that the sound at these big shows is one thing to your ear while there in the audience and another thing if you are listening to it over a radio broadcast. This is the sound coming from the P.A. - big, ballsy, LOUD, metal, and atmospheric, immersive, live. It's worth getting this, it has something to offer the listener. • Audience 8.7 - A little subdued maybe, but all the instrumentation is clearly heard, and dynamically it resides in the middle band frequencies and has a decent bass response but at the expense of maybe guitars which seem to sit just behind the bass. • Montreal - Audience 8.7 - You can tell the tapers gear was of good quality, the capture is actually very clear but in capturing the actual sound at the show you gotta accept whatever is coming out of the PA system, and however the sound guy has mixed it. That being said, I can tolerate this one much more than 90% of all the other Metallica audience tapes which suffer greatly from sheer volume overload most of the time. Missouri - Soundboard 9.1 - Great drums sound believe it or not, and both guitars are distinguishable from one another which makes it very well worth hearing. These two guys can really play, maybe not quite Dave Mustaine level (ok so I am partial to Megadeth) but they can do what they do in very convincing fashion especially when you can actually hear it. • Illinois 2002 - Audience 9.5 - Superb recording considering how hard it is to properly capture live heavy metal. Normally what you get, even if on good gear, is a well captured loud sound without much separation of instruments...but here you can really wrap your ears around it all pretty distinctly. Columbus 1990 - Audience 9.0 - This is a good recording with a little less fullness and bottom end definition compared to the Illinois set. Still, it's really well done and can benefit from your own "seasoning" so to speak. TROUBLE Penny Road Pub South Barrington, Illinois 2002-05-18 DISC 1 1. Introduction - R.I.P. 2. • Soundboard 9.2 - In this mix, vocals are front and center, followed next by drums (cool) and guitars which sound just evil AF. This is surely one all fans will slay for (see what I did there?). • Audience 8.7 - This is a really good, but flawed, recording. The good points are that it is clear, and has unmistakable stereo panning, and a LOT of good live atmosphere (not the obnoxious audience kind of atmosphere!). The flaws are that taper is working hard (to his credit) to get into a sweet spot and while doing this the signal to his deck fades in and out slightly - the effect is one of phasing, so it's not a deal-breaker flaw it's just you have to accept that vocals and what not at times sound really far back and then sound much closer...at various points during the show (I should say guitar does this too, maybe less often). The reason why you'll stick it out is because when it is good...it's great. The whole set was then mixed & produced by Joe Kleon at G4orce Studios. Until today the idea of a live album remained shelved.
  • Brand New - The Final days with Bruce! A show that sums up the Iron Maiden’s repertoire from 1980 to 1993! Great sound, great performance, great track list… a very good alternative to the subpar official releases of the same era.
