Audience 8.9 - Most of the recent tour recordings are excellent and all offer something different for the ears in terms of atmosphere, intensity, and clarity. This one I find has less of an emphasis on separation of instruments and more on depth of bass and overall sound. The guitar comes right at you, and the bass is nicely anchoring the bottom, drums are not as clear but still nicely placed. So, overall I like what this recording delivers. -
Pro Studio 9.7 and SDBRD 9.4 - Only the cleanest and best source material is used in this set. I would recommend this as a good starting point for a 70’s era Jeff Beck collector. -
Pro Studio 9.2 - Minimalism never sounded so catastrophic! But it’s cool in a subversive kind of way. -
Audience 7.7 - Ever wonder what the opening act was like? OK, so this is a great example of that – a band that opened for Jethro Tull in 1970 and someone recorded them. Are they good? They are very competent and it’s easy to see why they got the slot. The recording is kind of one-dimensional but sufficient to allow you to hear it all, with clarity, just not a lot of dynamics. This is probably the only existing live recording of them so it’s worth grabbing. -
Audience 7.8 - The better between the two Paris 1977 shows in my opinion. -
Audience 8.5 - Starts off a little funky as the taper gets in position but slowly develops into a very good and clear recording for the duration. The audience is golden, very respectful and this makes for a better overall experience too. -

Audience 7.5 - A tape that struggles to get better, like you keep expecting it to suddenly open up because it isn’t bad once the taper gets his levels set. It maybe hovers too close to the bottom, but you get the sounds of everything on stage, maybe vocals a little behind the mix but so what? It’s Gentle Giant, you want the music parts mainly. I think fans can appreciate this early gig. -

Audience 8.9 - FZ and Hot Rats Tour. Features the original Don "Sugarcane" Harris on violin and vocals, razor sharp guitar with an extra bite is how I like to define it. If this time period of the late 60's/early 70's is one that you enjoy, then this is the one to get. You get 70 minutes of classic songs, few of which are seldom ever played live. -
Audience 8.4 - What makes this LA show special is that only pieces of this concert was used for the official release "Just Another Band From LA". This is the complete performance (14o min.) with nothing left out, including a Soundboard (Sdbrd 8.0) segment (25 min.). -
Audience 8.7 - Great capture for an outdoor show back in 1979 and a good audience participation. While the band is in top form, they both seem to feed off of each other, which helps make for an outstanding performance every time. -
