  • Audience 8.2 - From tape source not LP, this recording has some tape hiss present, but it’s not overwhelming the music. Music sometimes seems a little muddy but then clears up a little then returns to a little muddy. It’s not bad though, it’s much better than most of the multi gen STP tour audience tapes out there. • Soundboard 9.4 - Sandy’s vocals are like, literally right there in your room. It’s scary! Well, I wouldn’t say scary, but really lifelike and present. • Audience 8.4 - This is a welcome tape as far as I am concerned. Anything with Ian Gillan has my attention, and this show is much better than the Dublin gig, which I mention because it also contains the infrequently performed “Hot Line” so it’s a big win for fans. The vocals are really clear, and so is the crunchy guitar, with occasionally a little phasing effect but kept to a minimum. Not hi-fidelity, but very good and well worth having in the collection! • Audience 9.1 - Sounds very close and hard to tell whether aud or board but for the audience members in the background. Super cool actually, I like the impact of the guitar/bass in this tape. • Audience 8.6 - A clear tape that EXPLODES from your speakers…but maybe because that is because the levels are really hot (but next to no distortion!) and it makes for a ridiculously electric sounding show. It’s like, man, I am here, my ears are melting and my mind is blowing! Way better than the previously circulating high gen tape, this is from the master reels and it shows. • Soundboard 9.5 and Audience 7.8 - Well, there you have it. You go from first to worst, thankfully most of the show is the board tape which is stellar.  For the sake of completeness, the not so great audience source fills in the missing bits and I for one don’t mind that at all. I’d rather have the whole show. • Pro Studio 9.4 - This supposedly comes from an acetate but it sounds very good, too good to be an acetate but who knows?  Short but sweet, and worth the price to get to hear this collaboration. What could have become of it had it been pursued more at the time. I think it is pretty good stuff, let’s face it, Arthur Lee does sound better vocally than Jimi. • Audience 8.7 - Both Volumes are very good and clear, but I give the nod to the first Volume because during the second one there are some odd stage sound situations and I have to fault the sound man who was probably nodding at the desk (possibly shot up with gram before the gig?). Anyway, historically speaking what you have here is pure gold and the literal birth of country rock. Great players, solid all around.
